Design of Therapeutic Laser for Veterinary Medicine
Hájková, Karolína ; Jelenčík, Branislav (referee) ; Rubínová, Dana (advisor)
The aim of this master thesis is design of high-power therapeutic laser for veterinary purposes. The thesis focuses on the design of laser device that will suit to a wide range of patients and also diverse environment where it is used. Emphasis is particularly placed on ergonomics which is often overlooked on existing devices of this type. An important aspect of this thesis is also appropriate choice of materials, colours and shaping to match the veterinary apparatus and the environment of use. Master thesis is based on the selection of many relevant sources, on practice observation and on consultations with users and specialists. The newly developed product will find its application in veterinary clinics and workplaces focusing on animal physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Frozen shoulder sy - effective physiotherapeutic approaches: systematic review
Drhlík, Michal ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Žáková, Lenka (referee)
Title: Frozen shoulder syndrome - effective physiotherapeutic approaches: systematic review Objectives: The aim of this work was to determine from studies concerning the treatment of the primary form of frozen shoulder syndrome using physiotherapeutic methods and published in the last 10 years, which brings the best results in reducing pain, increasing range of motion and improving affected shoulder function. Methods: Randomized controlled studies (double and single-blind) dealing with the physiotherapeutic intervention of frozen shoulder treatment with a data range of publications from September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2021 were searched. 3 databases were selected for this purpose: Cochrane Library, PubMed and Web of Science. Articles could be written in English, Czech, German, Slovak or Spanish. Different names of the studied disease were chosen as key words: adhesive capsulitis, contracted shoulder, frozen shoulder and periarthritis. Only articles with most probands between the ages of 30 and 70 were included. Persons with associated shoulder joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (excluding diabetes mellitus) were excluded. The analysis of selected articles was performed from clearly compiled tables for individual studies and from 3 summary tables of associated individual physiotherapeutic...

Name: Jana Šimková Supervizor: Mgr. Jakub Jeníček Oponent: Title of bachelor thesis: Use of Lasers in Physiotherapy Subtitle: Focused on Laser Acupuncture on Musculoligament Complex Disorders Abstract: This bachelor thesis is about the use of lasers in physiotherapy, focused on laser acupuncture on musculoligament complex disorders. The aim of this work was to find and process information from available sources of Czech and foreign literature in the form of systematic research. The thesis is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter is devoted to essential information about lasers, mechanism of laser-tissue interactions, suitable indications, and contraindications. The second chapter focuses on acupuncture, a brief description of the basic principles and techniques of execution. The third chapter introduces the readers to the use of low-level laser within the relatively young laser acupuncture method, clarifies its therapeutic effectiveness and usability in the field of rehabilitation care. The fourth chapter is a systematic review of clinical trials and studies that assess the effectiveness of both laser therapy in general and the acupuncture point irradiation using laser acupuncture. The discussion of the work summarizes the results of selected studies where laser therapy proved to be the most...
The efficiency of the usage of laser therapy in the Physiotherapy of the degenerative diseases
KRYTINÁŘOVÁ, Eva
The topic of this bachelor thesis is the application of laser therapy in the treatment of degenerative illnesses of the motion system, mainly osteoarthrosis. This paper covers the essence of laser therapy and its use, as well as the general treatment of osteoarthrosis. The advancement in the field of laser therapy happened in the second half of the previous century. Its effects are used in many fields, not only in medicine but also in physiotherapy. The main goal of this thesis was to state the basic working principle of lasers and the possible various laser therapies. Another goal was to research the possible uses of laser therapy and its effects on specific illnesses of the motion system, specifically osteoarthrosis. Osteoarthrosis affects approximately 10 12 % population. It is not only a very painful disease, but mainly it is a restraining factor, which obstructs living a high-quality life without restrictions of movement or regimen. This bachelor thesis is divided into three basic parts. The first part the general theoretical part, discusses the basic topics such as arthrosis in general, gonartrhosis and laser therapy. The chapter, in which lasers are addressed, states their history and working principles. Also included in this chapter are the determinations of dosage, the various laser-therapy devices, the biological effects and also the indications as well as the contraindications of this therapy. The second part the special theoretical part, focuses on the specific applications of laser therapy on patients with osteoarthrosis and it also offers a preview of the future of laser therapy. This part includes summary of the chosen clinical studies, which addressed the given topic. The third part the practical part, focuses on the applications of laser therapy as such. Based on observations and a secondary data analysis of information obtained from prescriptions, the application of the therapy on patients with knee osteoarthritis was evaluated. The result of the evaluation is that the therapy is generally carried out according to the programs of the specific devices. The subjects chosen for this thesis were 2 patients with gonartrhosis, who have been treated in Berta's spa resort in Třeboň and Medipont health center in České Budějovice. The doctor indicated physical therapy and kinesiotherapy for both patients. The patients had their case history created and attended the therapy three times per week. The total duration of the therapy was three to four weeks and the results were acquired using a qualitative research method. Using an analysis of information from medical documents, medical history and a kinesiologic examination, the data was gathered and formed into a case history. The foundation of the therapy was a thorough history-taking and a kinesiologic examination, which focused mainly on the examinations of knee joints. The selection of physiotherapeutic procedures was based on the findings in the kinesiologic examination. The therapy was individually designed and depended on the current state of the subjects. It was composed in a way, which complied with the ideas of the patients and at the same time, it would be possible for the patients to continue the kinesiotherapy in the consequent home care. Therefore education and the demonstration of possibilities were essential for the patients. Laser therapy was applied as a part the therapy. The therapy was a successful for both probands, mainly in regard of pain. It is anticipated that as a result of the long-term therapeutic plan, not only the lessening of the pain but also an increase of the range of motion and improvement of functions will occur. The acquired available data show, that it would be beneficial to continue with the laser therapy, which is still being improved, nevertheless the stated effects are more than convincing.
