The Multifunctional building Hlinky
Jarmerová, Eliška ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Sedláková, Markéta (advisor)
This bachelor thesis presents a design of a multifunctional buiding in Brno – Pisárky. The building should be located in a gap site in the street Hlinky. The plot is situated at the foothill of Žlutý kopec near the premises of Brno Exhibition Centre. The southern part of the plot includes the area of terraced houses. The street is 215m above sea level. This project designs a completion of the street housing development with a fitting construction of a convenient size and type of façade. The project takes into account a non-existing and formerly pulled-down 19th-century object of value concerned by heritage conservation. The former building was significant for its indentation in the line of the adjacent buildings. In the design I try to point out at this element applied for the whole height of the building. The building facade division follows the elements applied for the other objects in the surroundings of the lot. Based on the former analysis, the design utilizes a high potential of the place which had not been met before, mainly its easy centre and transport accessibility, south-facing slope, high density of population in the area of the exhibition centre as well as as university hostels. This multifunctional building is designed to function in three ways – as an office, a living place and a shop with a buffet providing cooked meals. The design preserves and recultivates a garden which will function as an orchard with furniture. The first floor of the object is designed as a reinforced concrete frame which is filled with a wall of cut vertically perforated brick blocks with mineral wool insulation and completed with ventilated façade made of facing bricks. The building has six aboveground floors and one underground floor. The height of the designed building overtops the neighbouring buildings, which is hidden due to the division of the building facade into smaller areas whose function is to achieve better setting of the mass of the building into the frontage.

Residence Lazce
Ambrozek, Patrik ; Různar, Daniel (referee) ; Bantová, Sylva (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with project documentation for the new construction of a residential building Rezidence Lazce. The proposed building is located on the outskirts of Olomouc on the border of three districts Lazce, Hejčín and Černovír, at the same time the building is located in the immediate vicinity of PLA Litovelské Pomoraví, which provides sports and relaxation for residents and at the same time in the vicinity of the house, further construction is being built in the direction of the PLA. We must not forget the river Moravia, with which the building is adjacent across the street on the east side. Thanks to the river, the building is located in the historic flood area Q100, or century-old water, which will soon change, as the city invests considerable resources in flood control measures, due to floods in 1997. The building is 4 storeys, where the first floor and is equipped with cellars, a bicycle shed, a pram, a sports facility with an infrared sauna, a meeting room and a technical room. On the remaining floors there are always 3 residential units 3 + KK, 2 with a spacious terrace to the west and the last smallest to be overlooking the river Moravia to the east. The house is based on concrete foundation strips in combination with lost formwork, which raises the building 0.5 m above the level of LT, precisely because of the flood area. The vertical construction system consists of Porotherm ceramic blocks. The horizontal structures are then made of monolithic reinforced concrete ceiling slabs. The building is insulated with a ventilated facade with a visible layer of face masonry. The roof of the house is then extensive vegetation.
Kraví hora - BUT Family silver
Peštálová, Lucie ; Dvořák, Miloš (referee) ; Nový, Alois (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is to design a project study and a building program that would become a compromise between the requirements of the city of Brno and BUT in the area of Kraví hora in the Brno city center. The city of Brno would like to transform the area into a public park. But BUT considers it as its "family silver" because they realize its extraordinary value. Options of a constructions are really limited because of many area regulations. My proposal counts on the demolition of all existing buildings in the area, respects property area relations , protection zone, continuity with existing traffic roads, height regulation, imaginary raster of surrounding buildings, slope of terrain and orientation to the cardinal points. My suggest represents a study of five groups of objects which creating a rectangular raster. As a compromise solution, I chose the presentation and promotional areas of the individual faculties of BUT for the content of the buildings. Faculties have spaces for hobby groups for the public comprise all age groups included. I also designed the BUT Museum of History, a multimedia hall, a cafeteria, studios, a student leisure center and an observation tower with a climbing wall.
