Field Social Work With Seniors
PETRÁŠOVÁ, Kateřina
The thesis deals with the quality of support of family carers who take care of the sick elderly. In doing so, it examines both the situation of carers, the issue of family care and its pitfalls, and the state's approach to supporting family carers. It examines the development of this support and its targeting, while examining the development of support in the last five years, when the concept of family care support was included in the social policy outlook until 2025. It also addresses family carers as a separate group to which social work should be targeted.
The mentally ill person and his life in society
FIALKOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis deals with a mentally ill person and his life in the society. Its aim is to characterize the difficulties of a mentally ill person (whether due to the manifestations of the disease itself or stigmatization) and the role of a social worker. It's dealing with the definition of mental illness and with the issue of stigmatization in various areas of life within the society such as family and friends, work life, media, and so on. A social worker is often an important part of the life of the mentally ill, that's why there is also a chapter dedicated to his role and activities. The target group of mentally ill stands between social and health care and therefore the topics of community care and reform of psychiatric care appear in this thesis. Part of the work includes interviews with the ill, which should complement the work with a real view of their lives, thus contributing to the stated goal.
Role komunitní sestry v péči o novorozence, kojence a matky
SCHÖNBAUEROVÁ, Andrea
The main purpose of the research was to explore the role of the community nurse in the care of newborns, infants and their mother and how this kind of care could be included in the current system of preventive care for newborns and infants in the Czech Republic. The research was developed by qualitative and quantitative design. In the first stage of the research, interviews with nurses from the PLDD outpatient department and mothers of infants in the South Bohemian and Pilsen Regions were conducted. Non-standardized questionnaires for nurses and mothers were created from the obtained data. The statistical processing was carried out with MS Excel, where absolute and relative frequencies were calculated and the relationships among the variables at the significance level ? = 0.05 were tested by the use of the chi-squared test and the Pearson correlation coefficient was used. For the needs of the qualitative survey, a research group of six mothers of infants and seven nurses from the PLDD outpatient departments in the South Bohemian and Pilsen Regions was chosen by deliberate selection. For the quantitative survey, a research group of 254 mothers of babies aged 12-24 months was chosen by deliberate selection. The research group of nurses was chosen by deliberate selection and consisted of 196 nurses working in PLDD outpatient departments for more than one year. Multiparas have provably more information at leaving the maternity hospital about breastfeeding techniques, breast milk pumping, nappy changing, hygienic care and bathing, dressing, sleeping, umbilical cord care, and safe handling of the baby. Information about the prevention of sudden infant deaths or the storage of breast milk is at the same level for primiparas as for multiparas. It was found out that there is a statistically significant relationship between the level of awareness and the occurrence of problems in the first year of the child's life. The personal experience of nurses with the visiting service has an influence on whether they attach importance to this service. The current model of preventive care of newborns and babies needs to be critically analysed and appropriately complemented by interventions of the visiting service.
Historical development of nursing care in children in the CR.
LAZOROVÁ, Hana
The availability of the health care in the 19thcentury was not very good from the geographical and economical point of view because in the countryside the care was provided by less qualified people. The care of a child was mainly only at home. Mothers took care of the children on their own. They got information and experience from elder more experienced women in their surroundings. There are many myths and superstition related to the health care at this time. The culture of the society and the religious views influenced the treatment of children at that time. The paediatrics as an independent branch of science began to develop at the turn of the 19thand 20thcentury. In connection to this progress the attention was also focused on development of children´s health care. There were established first children´s departments and the care moved slowly to hospitals. The ways of the care of children changed during the historical development. A big progress in treatment of children was in the 20th century. The nursing schools and other hospitals were established. We can also register an increase in number of professional literature dealing with treatment and education of children of different age period. The consultancy for the mother and the child started to extend. The myths and superstitions were slowly forced out of information with scientific basis. The care of community was developed in the middle of the 20th century. It was a response to the bad availability of the health care in the country. In 80s of the 20th century has been introduced a new way of care of the mother and the child in maternity units, so called roaming-in that has functioned successfullytoday. The main priority of the children´s health care is to ensure good health care for children at all age, not only in hospital but also in the health. The goal of this thesis was to map the development of the health care at children´s age in the area of the Czech Republic. The research was based on the qualitative method. Acquired results through a content analysis data were divided according to particular periods of time. Mapping of the development of the health care at children´s age in the area of the Czech Republic may provide a complete view not only for nurses but for all medical staff and non-professional people.

Implementace systému Omaha v komunitní praxi
BEŇOVÁ, Eva
Current situation: Standardized terminology of the Omaha system brings new opportunities for nurses providing community care. Objectives: Four objectives have been defined for this study: to implement the Omaha system in the nursing documentation for the purpose of verification of nursing care in community practice - to characterize the problems of patients with gastrointestinal diseases as per the Problem Classification Scheme - to map the links between problems and interventions as per the Intervention Scheme - to evaluate the problem results using the Problem Rating Scale for Outcomes of the Omaha system. Methodology: The research method used was based on the study by Kathryn H. Bowles (2000) addressing problems of patients and nurse interventions. The quantitative research method was implemented by inquiry using nursing documentation with the Omaha system implemented. The data acquired was tested using the software tools SPSS 22.0 and MS Excel. Research set: It consisted of 103 patients with gastrointestinal diseases. The inquiry was carried out by contact persons - nurses of the gastroenterology department. Results: Patients with gastrointestinal diseases suffering from a wide range of problems corresponding to given character of diseases, which predominantly occur in the Physiological Domain and Health-Related Behavior Domain. In terms of mapping of links between problems and interventions, the results have proven a high usability of the objectives defined in the Intervention Scheme in community practice. The interventions were mostly determined in the categories Treatments and Procedures and Surveillance. Statistical differences have been confirmed in the documentation of interventions in individual categories for patient problems as well as for the selection of interventions in individual categories with respect to the type of given gastrointestinal disease. The study results have proven a significant improvement of knowledge, behaviour and status for individual problems, which is shown in comparison of final values with the initial values of problem results. The implementation of the selected interventions as per the Intervention Scheme resulted in a reduction or elimination of ? of problems. Conclusions: The results of the research inquiry clearly show that the Omaha system is an appropriate tool for documentation of all stages of the nursing process in the community care. Implementation of the functional documentation in community practice requires the Czech version of the Omaha system and electronic form of the documentation, which are absent at present.

The data for practical part this work I has been gathering since spring 2013 till the day I finish my work. As respondents was selected from 28 users of Week care center. That is the maximum limit of this local service. In the theoretical part of my thesis I focuse on process of the deinstitutionalization and transformation defining social services (Week care-center and Safe Housing) and try to depict past and present situation specificaly in Czech republic and European Union. In the practical part of my thesis I describe process of transformation of social services Week care center provided by Day and Week Care Center in Jihlava. The basic method used in my research is structured interview recorded in questionnaire form called "Judging measure of a Service for Safe Housing". At last but not at least I analyze documents directly linked to process of transformation of selected service. The research of my thesis answered both quetions. First of all is "Are the users of a Day and Week Care Center prepared to procceed to comunity service of Safe Housing ?" and is solved by evaluation of necessary measure of support for users. The answer on researching question is that 4 users from 28 are able to procceed to comunity service of Safe Housing. For the answer on the second question "Is it possible to create comunity service in Jihlava in next 5 years ?" I try to find an answer throughout whole process of transformation project. I come up with a conclusion to answer that creation of comunity services is possible. Results of my thesis can be used for selected organization as the summary of selected process of transformation. Also results can be used as the source of information even for more social services providers and for public they are interested in.
