Práce se zabývá duševně nemocným člověkem a jeho životem ve společnosti. Jejím cílem je charakterizovat, s jakými obtížemi se potýká duševně nemocný člověk (ať už díky samotným projevům nemoci nebo díky stigmatizaci) a jakou roli pro něj hraje sociální pracovník. Zabývá se vymezením duševního onemocnění, ale také problematikou stigmatizace v různých oblastech života ve společnosti jako jsou například rodina a přátelé, zaměstnání, média a podobně. Sociální pracovník je mnohdy důležitou součástí života duševně nemocného, a proto je mu také věnována samostatná kapitola, která se zabývá jeho rolí a činností. Cílová skupina duševně nemocných stojí na pomezí sociální a zdravotnické péče, a proto se v práci objevuje i téma komunitní péče a reformy psychiatrické péče. Součástí práce jsou i rozhovory s nemocnými, které by měly práci doplnit o reálný pohled na jejich život, a tím přispět k vytyčenému cíli. This thesis deals with a mentally ill person and his life in the society. Its aim is to characterize the difficulties of a mentally ill person (whether due to the manifestations of the disease itself or stigmatization) and the role of a social worker. It's dealing with the definition of mental illness and with the issue of stigmatization in various areas of life within the society such as family and friends, work life, media, and so on. A social worker is often an important part of the life of the mentally ill, that's why there is also a chapter dedicated to his role and activities. The target group of mentally ill stands between social and health care and therefore the topics of community care and reform of psychiatric care appear in this thesis. Part of the work includes interviews with the ill, which should complement the work with a real view of their lives, thus contributing to the stated goal.
