Resolution of the information needs of the sales team in the leasing company using ICT tools
Kosíková, Renáta ; Oškrdal, Václav (advisor) ; Wiedermann, Miroslav (referee)
Nowadays information is considered as an essential company source, which is crucial for attaining a competitive advantage. The competitive advantage can be achieved by the acquisition of the relevant information, which is a prerequisite for knowledge creation. Acquired knowledge gives businesses an opportunity to improve their position against competitors quickly by finding the information required for the decision making. Hence the aim of this thesis is to examine the problem of acquisition of the relevant information, where this problem relates to the practice in a leasing company. In order to find the relevant information, the leasing company must precisely define its information needs so that it can obtain the relevant information more efficiently, in particular by using current information management tools. At present, information management is strongly affected by contemporary trends, such as Big Data, mobility, Cloud Computing, social media etc. As a consequence of these trends, volume of electronically processed information increases every day. Due to information oversaturation, information users may face the difficult information search problem. Using both modern information management tools and exactly defined information needs, the company shall obtain the relevant information in less time, or more information in the same time compared to the other firms. This might allow the company to make decisions more rapidly. In addition, information management tools are likely to uncover new contexts, of which the company was not aware.
Mobile personal assistants
Techl, Jan ; Sigmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Labský, Martin (referee)
This thesis focuses on analysis, definition and description of mobile personal assistants as a phenomenon emerging in past few years. Mobile personal assistants are first mentioned in the context of computational linguistics and information needs, which is one of the motivations to use them. Main interest of this thesis is an introduction of the core technologies for the natural language communication between the assistant and its user, followed by an introduction of host environments and possible usage. The thesis also presents the limitations and risks resulting from using them, which are in some ways affecting their usability. Beside the analysis the main focus is on the design and implementation of the natural language understanding (NLU) system, which can be used in particular personal assistant application. This system is implemented as a web service and consists of an annotation scheme with a set of components. The results show that the system architecture and tools used are suitable solution for the construction of a basic NLU system, which has been created and which is in the compliance with the requested parameters. It is still difficult task to achieve high precision, which depends on many factors including the amount of training data, which was very small in this case. However, the resulting application is a solid starting point for its further development and extensions.

Pokalyukhina, Polina ; Říhová, Zora (advisor) ; Luks, Martin (referee)
The main goal of this final thesis "Internal information system solution design in Holmes Place company" (Information requirenment solution in the company, Holmes Place) is the analysis of processes in Holmes Place and a proposal for a solution to the identified information requirements via implementation of an intranet. The analysis of the current situation in the company has been performed by identification of the Weaknesses and Strengths of the company using the methodology of SWOT analysis; the effective solutions to identified weaknesses are described in the later chapters of this thesis. The result of the analysis indicates that the most critical issue in all departments (Sales, Marketing, IT, Studio management etc.) of the company is a deficient communication structure particularly between internal and external processes. Implementation of an enterprise intranet which would allow the sharing of documents and information has been chosen as the optimal solution for this problem. Drawing from the work experience and current employment of the author, the intranet selected is Microsoft SharePoint 2013. The implementation and structure of MS SharePoint 2013 has been based on theoretical resources focused on Information requirenment, transformation points and data objects. In the practical part of this thesis, the author has focused on the functionality of the application and the specific benefits for the company. As a result, this analysis represents materials which can be used by the management of the company as a final specification of functionalities. Another important condition of implementation is security of information and risk minimisation. The conclusion and recommendations reached will provide Holmes Place with the benefits of efficiency improvement and management optimisation. Thanks to the improved internal communication between employees, the Information requirenment inside all company departments within the Czech Republic and abroad will be fulfilled.
