Impactor for laboratory capture of fine particles
Kodad, Daniel ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The focus of this master’s thesis is the issue of fine dust particles suspended in the air and their measurement. The thesis explains the basic characteristics of fine particles and the rules, which they follow. The section then examines the health risks of inhaled particles. Next is explained the influence of particles in the air on the environment, the historical development of the air pollution in the Czech Republic and the most important pollutants. After that is described the legislation, which frames the limits for pollutants suspended in the air. In the practical part is described the methods for calculation the geometry of cascade impactor, the design of three-stage impactor and finally the comparison with professional impactor. The designed impactor was then constructed and tested with wood burning stove as a source of particles.
Acoustic emissions of buildings
Smažinka, Josef ; Uher, Pavel (referee) ; Rubinová, Olga (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with acoustics with the main focus on acoustic emissions of buildings. The first part of the thesis aims to familiarize the reader with the field of acoustics as a whole. They will learn the basic concepts, quantities and relations that exist in acoustics. In the second part I focus specifically on the sources of noise in buildings and their surroundings, how can excessive noise affect health, what standards must be met and how to prevent excessive noise. The last part is devoted to practical measurements in the field, which is focused on real sources of noise in the city of Brno. The aim of this measurement is to compare the noise generated by buildings with other noises in the urban environment.
Zhodnocení kvality ovzduší v zájmovém území na základě vybraných ukazatelů
Sklenář, Tomáš
This bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation and development of air quality in the city of Znojmo based on selected indicators. The theoretical part first deals with the key legislative, administrative and economic instruments of air quality protection in the Czech Republic. In addition, the selected site will be described and the key sources of pollution will be identified. The most significant pollutants such as SO2, which due to relatively low concentrations stopped measuring at the site in 2012 and whose daily concentrations rarely exceeded 15 μg.m- 3, which is well below the immission limit. Another substance is carbon dioxide (CO), which also did not exceed the limit value set by the law and its concentration was almost not above 500μg.m-3. Nitrogen oxides (NOx), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and nitric oxide (NO) were also not out of the legal limits set by the law in the reporting period. However, it was found out that dust particles PM10, as opposed to dust particles PM2.5, exceeded the immission limit given by law not only in terms of permitted concentrations but also in the maximum number of exceedances. These pollutants emitted into the atmosphere are then evaluated, including impacts they have or may have on the environment. As a procedure for the elaboration of the theoretical part, the study of professional literature, professional journals and professional articles, both foreign and domestic, will be used. The practical part is in the form of compilation of the database of data on pollutants from data obtained from monitoring stations of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, which are located in a locality, from the period 2009-2016. At the end of the bachelor thesis there is a statistical and graphical evaluation of the results obtained from tabular surveys published by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.

The importance of greenery in the city
Svobodová, Lucie ; Blasinski, Petr (referee) ; Rubinová, Olga (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the problematics of urban pollution. Mainly on the impact of human activities and their consequences. Its main intention is to analyse an urban greenery system and its effect on the quality of life in both a positive and negative ways. Furthermore the diploma thesis researches the indicators of contamination, the sources of emission and their quantity at the location. The work comperes the individual indicators and the results of emission measuring. Then it proposes a suitable solution for better urban space planning with urban greenery.
Recognition quality of atmospere in towns and in areas with big resource of polluted air.
HRDÝ, Vojtěch
In this thesis, my objective was to determine the amount of air pollutants in cities of Ostrava and Ceske Budejovice and compare the differences of their content in the atmosphere of these locations. The theoretical part deals with the types of pollutants that occur in the atmosphere, their origin, characteristics and their possible toxic effects on the human body and the environment. Furthermore, there is an overview of the methods used for assessing air quality, prevention of air pollution and reducing the level of pollution, so as to reduce risks to human health caused by air pollution, to reduce the environmental burden substance reaching into the air and damaging ecosystems and create conditions for the recovery of components environmental affected by air pollution. To assess the air quality in both locations, I used the method of "secondary data analysis" of publicly available data published by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. From these data, I created graphs that compare the air quality in Ostrava in the Ceske Budejovice in the period 15. 8. 2016 - 15. 3. 2017 in all measured categories. For completeness, the work embedded graphs comparing the two cities on the 15th day of the month within a single pollutant. From the results it is evident that these two cities are in many ways similar. The assumption that the city of Ostrava is still a city with the worst air is no longer current.
Legal regulation of beekeeping
Prášil, Adam ; Damohorský, Milan (advisor) ; Žákovská, Karolina (referee)
The diploma thesis summarizes the current legislation regarding beekeeping in the Czech Republic. The thesis aims to provide the reader with a comprehensive overview of the legal regulations of beekeeping. The thesis itself is divided into two chapters. The former chapter describes the beekeeping legislation from the point of view of the private law and the latter from the point of view of the public law. The centerpiece law regarding the first chapter is the Civil Code. The Civil Code contains the adjustment of nuisance, neighbourly relations, swarm legislation and damages. From the public law standards, beekeeping is affected by the Law on Veterinary Care, the Phytosanitary Care Act, the Breeding Act, the Food Law, the Income Tax Act, the Law on Damages from Specially Protected Animals, and many others. The Veterinary Care Act, together with the implementing legislation, sets out procedures for combating honeybee diseases and the conditions for traveling with bees. The Phytosanitary Act contains provisions under which bees are protected from the effects of the use of substances viewed as threatening to them. The Food Act and subsequent decrees contain a definition of honey. The breeding law sets the rules for the record keeping of bee colonies. The Income Tax Act exempts beekeepers who have fewer...
New low-cost polutant sensor evaluation
Sinkulová, Michaela ; Zíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Hovorka, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the introduction and subsequent comparison of low-cost sensors measuring air pollutants, which were used in the Citi-sense project in Ostrava. The results of the measurements carried out in the period from 1st June 2015 to 7th September 2015, are compared with reference data measured by the Czech hydrometeorological institute during the same period. The data are analyzed to provide the basis for further research into low-cost devices monitoring air pollution. Basic parameters such as average values, correlation coefficient, slope of linear regression, reproducibility of results, RMSE, and weekly and daily cycle are calculated for all measured pollutants (O3, CO, NOx, NO2, NO, PM10). The results are graphically illustrated and commented. The thesis also discusses the concordance of concentrations measured by the sensors with the data from the reference instruments, and the use of these new sensors in air quality monitoring in the future. Key words: Low-cost sensors, pollutants, air pollution monitoring methods
