Hope and it's absence in the eyes of suicide attempts

The bachelors thesis is concerned with hopefulness and hopelessness in the context of suicide attempts. The theoretical part focuses on describing suicides and suicide attempts, motives and theories of suicides and the main part is dedicated to hopelessness and hopefulness and their change from before and after the last suicide attempt. The practical part is based on qualitative research with five in-depth half-structured interviews, which were realized with five women that attempted once or more times since between one to five years ago. The goal of the research is to map individual experiences of respondents, especially with the focus on hopefulness and hopelessness. The data have been processed with a case study to better understand the feelings of hopefulness and hopelessness and their change.

The text explains the phenomenon of hope from a phenomenological point of view, i tis an explanation of hope and its understanding in the context of human live. We know hope from a Christian perspective, such as salvation salvation, forgiveness, hope for eternal life. In the postmodern age, human existence has changed and hope needs to be thought through in new contexts. The question arises as to what is really hope. Althought it does not seem important, understanding hope and distinguising it is a condition of well-being of the individual and society. Hope must not be an illusion or a mere daily hope of fulfilling our wishes. Hope is above all action, it is not surrender and resignation. True, transcendent hope is born in deep crisis, pain, abandonment, it comes to us in patience, in the act of acceptance, reconciliation. Hope is an awareness of the future in spite of reality. Hope is perseverance, humility and mystery. Hope is joy, it is a force that comes to us from an unidentifiable place, but it spreads everywhere. Hope also relates to the existence of the whole world, to the responsibility for maintaining the conditions of life on Earth, to the dignified and fully lived life of individuals. Imagery of Czech border in modern cinematography and in television

This master's thesis named Imagery of Czech Border in Modern Cinematography and in Television focuses on the issue of the representation of the Czech border region in Czech cinematography after 1990. The Czech border region is still an interesting area for its historical development, attracting the attention of many historians and artists. The thesis seeks to answer the question of how Czech cinematography works with historically and geographically given realities. The first part of the thesis deals with the issue of the historical development of the Czech border region and introduces the reader to the key events that formed the border in the past. It then explains how these historical events resulted in the present form of the Czech border region. The second part of the thesis focuses on the exploration of five different films made after 1990. Selected Czech films are Až do Města Aš (Made in Ash), Mistři (Champions), Habermannův mlýn (Habermann's Mill), the analysed series are Pustina (Wasteland) and Přísahám a slibuji (Spondeo ac polliceor). Movies are analysed through selected means of expression, such as location and environment, acting and characters, camera, shot and cut, lighting and sound component.
