Value of education from the perspective of pupils of different types of school

Values, especially the value of education, can be called a timeless theme. Changing historical periods brought about changes in the concept of educational value. Originating in Ancient Greece, the concept of educational value is as relevant as ever even today. This paper is devoted to this topic. In the Introduction - theoretical part - we aimed to look at the common values from the perspective of different disciplines. The following part discusses such terms as the system of values, its hierarchy and value orientation. This thesis also focuses on socialization and transmission of values, mostly in the family. This inherently includes parent-child relationships and educational styles. We did not avoid the issues of perceptions of moral standards specific to adolescents, their choice of vocational preparation etc. Also mentioned are the concepts related to education and educating. In the practical part, we discuss research methodology, conducting the interviews and their coding according to predetermined criteria. After this analysis, the thesis deals with the comparison of personal students' testimonies across individual classes as well as entire schools. Issues of Values of Education in Postmodern Society in the Early 21st Century

The aim of the thesis is to outline the issues of current conception of values as moral standards in postmodern society and to identify the consequences of this conception for education. The thesis tries to analyze current pluralist society on the base of literature, which is relevant to given subject. The thesis deals with a question, if and under what conditions is possible to determine socially valid values and if is possible to integrate them into the process of education. The text is divided into two chapters, the first of them deals with issues of postmodern society, pluralism and philosophical deconstruction and tries to indicate relations with education. The second chapter is focused on the problem of values, current educational objectives and the last part of this chapter is focused on the authority of education in current society. The Importance, Value and Price of Education

The presented thesis characterizes education by means of an economic theory. The aim of the practical part is an investigation through an opinion poll comprising a response of the general public to issues related to the importance of education, its contribution and the distribution of the responsibility for the sphere between the State and its citizens. The practical part also comprises a contemplation over the price and value of education, respectively with regard to higher school education.
