Plánková, Tereza ; Babička Fialová, Dominika (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to get acquainted with modern technological elements currently used in shell-and-tube heat exchanger in the shell-side and tube-side, thermal-hydraulic calculation of selected elements and comparison of thermal-hydraulic properties with classically used competing technological elements. The work deals mainly with EM baffle in the tube-side and tube inserts like the twisted tape type (and its modifications) and coiled wire in the tube-side. The theoretical part is focused on acquaintance with classical technological elements in shell-and-tube heat exchanger and with basic thermal-hydraulic calculations, practical part then on acquaintance with modern elements and thermal-hydraulic calculation of selected elements. These calculations are then compared with the results of the thermo-hydraulic calculation of similar elements.
Design of heatexchanger
Nováček, Filip ; Gottvald, Jakub (referee) ; Nekvasil, Richard (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design a heat exchanger which will be part biogas cogeneration system. This work will be divided into two parts. The first part deals only with the known types of industrial heat exchangers, operation and maintenance. The work is not addressed the issue of transfer and exchange of heat because the thermal-hydraulic calculation was the subject of enter. In the second part is design solution heat exchanger according to given parameters controlling, the calculation of pressure parts of the heat exchanger according to ČSN EN 13445-3 and FEM calculation of the critical parts of a heat exchanger. The thesis is also the drawings forms of the heat exchanger.
Simplified modelling of tube bank heat exchanger in CFD
Cacková, Tereza ; Juřena, Tomáš (referee) ; Vondál, Jiří (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the replacement of heat exchanger surfaces during simulations in the ANSYS Fluent. The aim of this work is to find a simplified model of the heat exchanger usable for flow simulations in large process and energy units, where it is not possible to model the entire heat exchanger in detail. The calculation procedures are applied to „tube bank” heat exchanger. The master thesis is divided into three parts. First part deals with pressure losses. The "porous zone" approach is used as a replacement for the heat exchanger surface. In the second part, the heat transfer by convection and conduction through the heat exchanger is replaced by the "Heat Exchanger" module. The third part examines the influence of material properties, heat source and fixed temperatures on incident radiation. All calculations resulting from the methods are performed using a script that prepares the output data in format suitable for insertion into ANSYS Fluent. A simplification, which faithfully replaces a fully modeled heat exchanger, has been found in all three parts of the thesis.
Indirect air heating
Beneš, Josef ; Adam, Pavel (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
The master Thesis deals with indirect air heating in air handling units. In the theoretical part of the thesis the categories of heat exchangers are defined according to their positioning in ventilation system, used material and type of heat transfer fluid. To the issue of calculating heat exchanges through heat exchangers and description of different kinds of regulation of primary heat transfer fluid is dedicated a separate chapter. The experimental part of the thesis deals with determining performance of current air heat exchanger at set thermal gradient with various heat transfer fluids. In the calculating part of the Thesis, based on measured values, are suggested two possible solutions for use of technological waste heat. Final evaluation of particular solutions was based on the criterion of efficiency usage and implementation investment costs.
Mathematical Model of Membrane Distillation
Severance of raw material flour transportation air
Brzobohatý, Lukáš ; Fatka, Jan (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
The dissertation is focused on the applied technical and economic analysis of the influence separation of transport air from raw meal on the economy clinker/cement production, in specific cement production. The analysis is performed on the basis of a detailed understanding and analysis of the function of each component of the technology of cement production, which are affected by separation of transport air from raw meal, mainly the dosing and preheat system of the raw meal. The results of the analysis show a significant effect (impact) separation of transport air on the production costs.
Solar system
Tuhovčák, Ján ; Fortelný, Zdeněk (referee) ; Chroboczek, Libor (advisor)
The bachelor thesis describes the issue of the domestic water heating by solar systems and the conditions of this system’s usage, its advantages and disadvantages are mentioned. Part of this paper analyzes the main components of solar system and there is a list of solar panels available on the market. The second part of this thesis deals with specific application of a solar system in the locality of Brno. The concept of the system consists of absorption area calculation, energy balance and the system’s financial analysis. Financial repayment time is interpreted separately for the conditions in Czech Republic and Slovakia. If the government grant is considered in the calculation, the financial repayment time is economically interesting, otherwise it is disputable. The environmental contribution is in every case unambiguous.
Solution of inverse problems in the area of material and heat exchangers
Kůdelová, Tereza ; Nechvátal, Luděk (referee) ; Čermák, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the dynamic behavior of heat exchangers which is described by the system of dierential equations. In this conection it includes a general information about necessary theoretical background especialy concerning heat transfer. Further, it mentions also the basic types of arrangement of heat exchangers that may occur in practice. The main goal is to answer the questions of controllability, observability and identifiability of the parameters obtained by solving corresponding inverse problem.
Selection of suitable fluid flow directions in laminar flow tubular cooler
Krobot, David ; Kohoutek, Josef (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master’s thesis is devoted to problematic of selection of suitable flow directions in double pipe heat exchanger. First chapter is oriented to the construction of tube heat exchangers. It is also discussed impact of construction solution to the flow character and changing of his process parameters. The difference between parallel and countercurrent flow is also occurred in this parts. The next chapter is focused to the basics of heat-hydraulic calculations of heat exchanger. This also means explanation of ways of heat transfer and heat exchanger function. There are told about specific access to the solving problem of fluid laminar flow. The third chapter is detailed focused to the calculating of heat exchanger. At first is discussed factors, which have impact to the flow character. Next are detailed descriptions of design and controlling calculations, including more alternative ways to solve it. Next chapter exploit those results for deciding, which flow arrangement will be better for given case. Last chapter contain realization and reformulating of process heat exchanger calculating to the program code in Maple. There is also description of used algorithms and operating with them, so any user could be able to work with it. In this master’s thesis are used many examples from attached programs on different parts.
