Kindergarten of the 21st century
Turská, Klára ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Utíkalová, Ivana (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the design of a new kindergarten in the city of Brno-Stránice. The assigned plot is located in the northwestern part of the school yard of the Cyril and Methodius Church Grammar School and Primary School. The form concept is based on the dispositional concept of three parts – two units and the support area of the kindergarten – two prisms that open from each other, which form a trapezoidal support area. This shape allows to preserve the privacy of the kindergarten, which is also shielded from public space. The kindergarten is designed as a two storey, partially basement building, with a flat vegetation roof and curtain walling facade. The building respects the street line and has one prism partly above ground level, which allows barrier-free access from Havlíčkova Street to the second floor. The curtain walling facade consists of steel structure, that is overgrown with plants, which freely pass to the vegetation roof and naturally imitate the image of trees. The curtain walling facade will give the kindergarten a natural and playful character, that will become easily acceptable for children.

The upper floors are made up of individual housing units with layouts of 1+kk, 2+kk, 3+kk and 4+kk. The new apartment building is based on concrete strip footings and foundation pads. The vertical load-bearing structures of the underground part of the building are made of cast-in-place reinforced concrete wall. In the above-ground part of the building is designed structural longitudinal and transversal masonry system made of bricks by Porotherm. The floor structures in the whole building consists of cast-in-place reinforced concrete slabs. The roof of the building is a warm flat green roof. Coworking office building
Borková, Sabina ; Sochorová,, Zuzana (referee) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to design a detached two-storey office building with green roof in Pardubice. The thesis has three parts. First part presents architectural and structural designs. The building has concrete strips. The vertical loadbearing structures are designed from ceramic blocks. The envelope wall is insulated with mineral wool ETICS. The horizontal structures are designed from the prestressed Spiroll floor panels. The floors are connected by prefabricated reinforced concrete staircase and an elevator. The walls around the elevator shaft are designed from reinforced concrete. The building is assessed in terms of thermal technical requirements, acoustics, daylighting and Energy Performance Certificate. The second part proposes the design of selected building services. This part includes the design of artificial lighting, rainwater management, the design of photovoltaics, heating, mechanical ventilation and cooling. The building is connected to local district heating grid. It is cooled by VRF units on the roof and ventilation units in individual rooms. There are 42 photovoltaic panels on the roof with east and west orientation. The third part assesses the life cycle assessment of the structures. In this part, six different compositions of floor structure are assessed. The best composition is used in the design of the building. The third part of the thesis deals with the life cycle assessment of the structure. In this part, six different compositions of flat vegetated roofs are assessed. These compositions differ from each other in the type of waterproofing material and the type of the gradient layer. A roof area of 1 m2 with a heat transfer coefficient of U = 0.148 W/ (m2.K) was chosen as the functional unit for the LCA. One Click LCA software was used in the calculations. A life cycle was created for each component, including the different phases and modules defined in EN 15978. The following programs were used for the thesis: AutoCAD 2022, ArchiCAD 25, Building Designe, Hluk +, FIRE–NX, DEKSOFT, One Click LCA, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat.
