There's black and white, day and night, good and evil, yin and yang. It all just balances itself out.
Ilič, Risto ; Kořínková, Jana (referee) ; Mazanec, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis "There's Black and White, Day and Night, Good and Evil, Ying and Yang" follows the three-year existence of the collective "Ugly Brno" and its work, which is based on the still current, local phenomenon of redesigning of advertising banners and shields in the context of small businesses located in the Brno city center. Specifically, it focuses on emerging designs combining black and white. The output of this bachelor's thesis is a video – a fictional interview in which Black and White are personified as two confident, eccentric personalities, quasi-experts in today's visual culture and the ultimate guarantors of taste, who conquered the city of Brno with their realizations. The objective of this thesis is to reveal the mythology behind the popularity of black and white combination in the context of visual culture, particularly in graphic design and its connection to the problematics of gentrification and capitalism. Another objective is to use sarcasm and irony to create a reflection of a culture whose values are elitism, workaholism, perfectionism, disregard for alternatives and an emphasis on efficiency. Why is it that in such a culture, black and white has gained more and more popularity than ever before?
History of music
Janeba, Jakub ; Čumlivski,, Jan (referee) ; Macháček, Mikuláš (advisor)
In the book History of Music, the reader learns about music through all epochs of humanity (from prehistory to the present) in a simple, comprehensive way. The book is illustrated to entertain both small and large readers who appreciate the quality of the workmanship. The text in the book is processed in structured info-blocks, profiles of musicians and short poems, serving as a mnemonic aid. As part of my bachelor's thesis, I deal with a graphic concept, illustration, the concept of publishing a book, the preparation of a sales e-shop.
Design and development of plug-in tools
Bařák, Šimon ; Dědic, Filip (referee) ; Kubíková, Zuzana (advisor)
A plug-in is software that does not work independently, but as an add-on module to another application, thus extending its functionality. It usually uses a ready-made application interface called an API. Many programs offer programmers the ability to use their API (application interface) with the ability to extend the functionality of the program.
Service Development
Suchý, Jan ; Maňas, Kristian (referee) ; Kubíková, Zuzana (advisor)
The bachelor thesis describes the development of digital products / services within a long-term collaborative project, reflecting current processes and tools used in creating visual outputs (graphic and text editors, cloud services for file sharing, platforms for organising collaboration). Existing software usually slowly reflects technological developments, causes unnecessary errors in communication between creators and generates unnecessary tasks. Most work takes place offline, products and services are not compatible. Emerging web applications / service co.llaborate.online have ambitions to solve these problems and automate part of workflows
Output: a piece of dope material evidence for academic and online validation
Polách, Jakub ; Zálešák, Jan (referee) ; Kubíková, Zuzana (advisor)
According to Konrad Paul Liessmann, knowledge society is a structure subject to certain political and economic interests. University education, being a part of this structure, is reduced to mere professional training and the potential of knowledge acquired in this manner can be measured only in terms of its usefulness in the labour market. Under these circumstances, industrial society is being transformed into a society focused not on extraction of raw materials but on extraction of knowledge. Liessmann speaks about a process of knowledge industrialization: an industrial worker, subjected to an economic model driven by material production, is replaced by a knowledge worker, subjected to an economic model operating with symbolic value. Education is subjected to management control asserting economic evaluation – knowledge undergoes industrial processing, so that values, opinions and beliefs ultimately have no relevance within the context. What is of utmost importance is the quantifiable output, sick evidence of academic/online validation. In connection to this critique, my BA thesis discusses the possible content of the depleted BcA academic degree. Any sort of commodification occurring in the process is purely coincidental.

Dále poukazuje na genderové rozdíly v průmyslu počítačových her a ukazuje preference respondentů, které by mohly developerům umožnit zdokonalit kvalitu počítačových her.
