Work-life balance in a selected company

The bachelor thesis deals with the work-life balance in a selected company. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is theoretical, in which the issue of human resource management and the topic of work-life balance are approached. Furthermore, some legislative instruments and flexible work arrangements supporting work-life balance are described. The second part is the analytical part, which contains three case studies and the results of a questionnaire survey in a selected company. The last part is about suggested measures. It contains recommendations in the field of work-life balance based on the questionnaire survey. Following the implementation of these recommendations, the work-life balance of employees in the company should improve.

Employer monitoring of employees - Monitoring of Flexible Work Arrangements Abstract This thesis focuses on three areas of interconnected legal issues, institutes, and topics that all come together within the scope of labour law and the actual industrial relations. The first area covers the protection of privacy and integrity of the individual as stipulated by the constitutional standards, general legal regulations, European standards, and binding international treaties and conventions. The second area covers the industrial relations as such; however, special emphasis is put on the protection of privacy and integrity of employees. Finally, thethird area covers the employee monitoring by the employer - at theusual workplace as well as when working remotely, usually from the employee's home. In the introductory part, the above mentioned sources of law are analysed and the normative framework is described, setting the limits of legitimacy and legality of employee monitoring by the employer. Subsequently, various monitoring forms and methods are examined, applying descriptive and analytical methods to understand different aspects of employee monitoring in various environments and types of industrial relations. Atypical forms of employment

This diploma thesis focuses on atypical forms of employment, which have recently been frequently discussed also in the Czech Republic. Popularity of atypical forms of employment is increasing, because employees want better balance between family and work life. Thesis presents various trends in employment such as flexibility, which is described regarding the European Union policy and labour law principles. It also includes a historical excursion into the emergence and functioning of the phenomenon of flexicurity and explains the concept of work-life balance in terms of its use within the Czech Republic. The core part of the diploma thesis revolves around two atypical forms of employment: employee sharing and job sharing. It explains their functioning, maps their occurrence in the Czech Republic and appreciates their advantages and disadvantages. Also portrays how employee sharing is regulated and works in the Federal Republic of Germany along with usage and legal means of job sharing in the United Kingdom. Diploma thesis is concluded by suggestions for legal regulation and application of employee sharing and job sharing in the Czech Republic based on the evaluation with the German and British regulations. Atypical forms of employment

Number of pages 134. The topics of rigorous thesis are some selected atypical forms of employment and flexible working arrangements that the Czech labor law not yet fully knows and uses. The chosen theme is based on current trends in labor law highlighting flexicurity as a mutual individual employment relationship between employer and employee, which through atypical forms of employment and flexible working arrangements allows the freedom and flexibility for the employer and the guarantee and protection by minimum labor standards on the part of the employee. This paper also briefly compares atypical forms of employment and flexible working arrangement with Slovak labor legislation.
