Ichthyological evaluation of fish communities at sites of interest in relation to special-purpose fisheries management. Final report for 2016-2018
Jurajda, Pavel
The aim of this study, which has been under way since 2008, is to use the Hamry reservoir as a model for biomanipulation of the fish community to improve water quality. A secondary aim was to assess whether effective biomanipulation of the fish community is a feasible management measure for reservoirs.
Ichtyofauna of selected streams of Bohemian Forest
ŠRÁMEK, Jiří
Presented work is directed to summarize the results of ochtyomonitoring of five stream in Bohemian Forest in autumn 2010. The processing status is evaluated fish communities, especially their species composition, diversity, dominance, evenness and other parameters. They have been evaluated also physico-chemical properties of the sites such as air and water temperature, conductivity and turbidity. Last but not least were evaluated the characteristics of flows and in particular morphological characteristics, types of the bottom substrate and its contours etc. The evaluation of all obtained data showed that fish communities surveyed Bohemian flows are balanced, they are not burdened with invasive species and rand indicators correlated with the state of flow, geographic location and natural conditions. It was caught nine fish species in the total number of 963 individuals. Abundance was at all locations in the range 201,6 to 409,7 individuals per kilometer of flow, showed the diversity of communities from 0,372093 to 2,166085 (Shannon and Wiener index) and from 0,301804 to 0,866948 (Simpson index), then evenness of plant 0,372093 to 0,783906. The most dominant species was the brown trout, the second most frequent species was bullhead.
Species diversity of the fish community in the river arms of floodplain of the lower reaches of the River Dyje
Horák, Václav ; Halačka, Karel ; Lusk, Stanislav
The river branch connected permanently with the active stream of the river Dyje had a significantly higher species diversity in the fish community than river branches separated permanently from the active stream. As well, the fish abundance was significantly higher in the former. Within the rehabilitation project, it is proposed to restore a permanent connection of cut backwaters with the river Dyje active stream.
Fish assemblages of the artificially made water habitats in floodplain forests
Horák, Václav
In the alluvium of the Dyje River (r. kms 0.0-35.00) the original biotops and the artificially made biotops (created as a part of revitalisation activities) were studied in two floodplain forest complexes (the Kančí obora and the Soutok floodplain forests). Within the Kančí obora floodplain forest the most diversified assemblage was found in the new made complex of three pools, the Palachy (16 species) because of its permanent connection with hydrological systém. The species Rutilus rutilus, Scardinius erythrophthalmus, Blicca bjoerkna occured most. In the original pool U svaleného dubu (14 species) were the R. rutilus, S. erythrophthalmus species most frequent. Within the Soutok area in the artificially made complex of two pools, the Kesle, 9 fish species were found. The species Abramis ballerus occured most. In the original pool, the Krumpava, 10 fish species were found with A. ballerus occuring most as well. The artificially made habitats (pools) provide the same conditions for fish if permanently connected with the hydrological system of the floodplain forest.
Ichtyofauna of the border Malše River
Matěnová, V. ; Matěna, Josef
Ichthyological investigation of the border section of the Malše River was performed in 2002 and 2003. The occurrence of brook lamprey larvae and five rheophilous fish species was confirmed – brown trout, common sculpin, grayling, burbot, stoneloach. Species escaping from fishponds – perch and common carp were found in negligible numbers. The brown trout dominated in numbers at all investigated profiles. The length and age analysis of the brown trout population showed the dominance of YOY fish, the population exhibited a harmonical age class composition. Results confirmed successful natural reproduction of trout, grayling, burbot and bullhead. The following investigation in 2003 oriented specially on the occurrence of brook lamprey proved that the population remained unaffected by the floods in 2002. The border Malše River represents an athropogenically slightly affected watercourse with suitable conditions for natural reproduction of all indigenous species found during the study.
