Characteristic stance of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in EU illustrated on the example of British rebate

This thesis deals with the problem of British attitude towards European integration. The relationship between the United Kingdom and the European Union is described via the existence of a phenomenon of British European budget rebate. The budget rebate is a British reduction in price of the cost of contribution annually sent to the common European Union's budget. It was won by the Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in Fontainebleau Summit in 1984. The main reason for giving Great Britain this privilege was the fact that the UK was one of the biggest net contributor to the budget. On the other hand, the UK received too little from the budget because it had only a small agricultural sector. The European budget was aimed primarily for subsidising the European farmers. The UK's annual VAT-based contribution to the European budget is reduced according to a formula first set out in the Fontainebleau Agreement. This reduction is equal to 66 % of the difference between what the UK pay for the EC budget and the receipts, which the UK gets back. But, the rebate applies only as for spending within the EU and the British contribution is calculated as if the budget were financed only by VAT. The context of the economic crisis and the EU budget development during the period 2007–2012

The aim of this master thesis is to analyze the relationship between the economic crisis and the financial perspective valid for the period 2007--2013. The first theoretical chapter presents the origin of economic crisis in the USA and its extension to Europe. Then the EU budget is described. The second chapter analyzes the influence of the economic crisis on the expenditure and the revenue side of the EU budget and on the EU budget reform. The third chapter summarizes the results. This part of the thesis shows also the influence of the economic crises on the new budget perspective after 2013.
The EU financial framework 2007–2013

The bachelor thesis deals with the budget of the European Union, concretely with the EU financial framework 2007-2013. The first chapter defines general concepts and characteristics connected with the EU budget issue. The second chapter focuses on the present financial framework. EU budget expenditures and revenues are described in detail, namely in terms of individual expenditure policies and sources of revenue. The EU priority objectives for this period are mentioned. The third chapter gradually goes over to problems of the present financial framework. Above all this chapter speaks about the budget reform that began in this period. The end of the bachelor thesis outlines the possible development of the EU budgetary policy in the following financial period.
The Sectoral Operational Programme for Poly-Functional Agriculture and its evaluation

The aim of this work is to get acquainted with possibilities of using financial resources for the Czech Republic as an EU member. There are mentioned synopses here of possibilities of using the structural funds of EU and pre-accession financial support. The work is focused on the Operational programme of Rural development and multifunction agriculture 2004 {--} 2006 and its evaluation in terms of formal EU requirements and in terms of utilizing of financial sources. In the second part of the work this programme is described including fundamentals of projects preparation and financial supports administration. The work is further focused on the financial framework and summary of using from this programme for individual years, regions and measures. Based on a database of the companies which asked for financial support within this programme, there are several economic indicators calculated. The work ends with assessment of possibilities of financial resources from EU, evaluation of the OP of Agriculture and adumbration of the situation of programme continuing for the period 2007 {--} 2013.

This document is focused on the approval system of the financial framework and to compare this framework with the previous ones. The expenditures a the receipts are described. The financing of the Common Agricultural Policy is connected with European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the EAGG.
