MEDALOVÁ HŮDOVÁ, Václava
The aim of the thesis is to answer the research questions "What key themes do students identify using the Philosophy for Children method in selected texts in the elementary school reader for the second grade?" and "How do students interpret selected texts through these concepts?" The theoretical section focuses on the general concept of interpretation and the connection of interpretation with the Philosophy for Children method, whose principles are subsequently explained through practical examples. The thesis also includes a characterization of the selected age group of students who were part of the research. Adolescents are described not only from the perspective of developmental psychology but especially as readers, with the area of their reading interests being examined. For example, book borrowings among adolescent readers in libraries are analyzed. The research section offers an analysis of philosophical discussions in which students attempted to find key themes in selected texts from the reader.
Intimacy as a topic for preschool children
HLAVÁČKOVÁ, Eliška
The bachelor thesis addresses the issue of intimacy as a topic for preschool children in kindergartens. The theoretical part provides an insight into different conceptions of intimacy and the terms associated with it, which will be further used for the practical part. It also looks at the physical and mainly psychological development of the preschool child, particularly in relation to intimacy. It also focuses on three well-known theories of human needs, specifically according to Abraham Maslow, Zdeněk Matějček and the Pesso family. It then subjects these to comparison and finds connections between them and the themes of intimacy, demonstrating their interrelatedness and importance for the healthy development of the preschool child. The theoretical part also pays attention to whether the topic of intimacy finds its rightful place in preschool education and how it is included in the curriculum. The practical part presents the planning, implementation and evaluation of a week-long project that aims to sensitively introduce the topic of intimacy to preschool children using the principles of Philosophy for Children. The core element of this project is an original children's book, which is intended to serve as a suitable didactic material for kindergarten teachers in the field of the above-mentioned issue.

Dialogue as a way to develop a child's personality
ČINÁTLOVÁ, Martina
The main theme of my bachelor thesis is the use of dialogue in education - the tool for this is philosophical dialogue as used in Philosophy for Children. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the concept of Philosophy for Children is introduced, including some works by the Swiss author Eva Zöller Morf. This approach is complemented by the developmental characteristics of the preschool years and the possibility of supporting the development of moral reasoning and emotional competences to which P4C can contribute. The practical part summarises action research carried out in one kindergarten. It contains a record of five meetings in which the starting point was reading books and reflecting together on the themes of their stories. In the process, the children learned to become aware of various ambiguities and to voice them aloud, while also being able to respond to each other later, to think together and to move the discussions forward. During the conversations they listened to each other and commented factually or less factually on the topic.
