Understanding Concrete Environment in Geographical Education Research

This diploma thesis is focused on the phenomenon of understanding landscape among geographers in continuity with didactic purposes. The aim of this thesis is being reached by using a qualitative research methodology. The thesis builds on the initial investigation, focused on the question to which extend do pupils of grade 7th - 9th (upper primary school) are able to use their classroom knowledge on landscape in the field to understand/read concrete environment. In search for a geographical attitude while reading the landscape, four groups (two groups of geography graduates, geography teachers and a control group) were asked to find and come up with a solution in summing up the best way to perceive and read landscape. Diploma thesis consists of four parts. The first one presents definition of landscape and theoretical base to empirical research. The second one is description of my own field program and discussion of its aim and results. The third one describes qualitative research project including suitable methodology along with the description of the respondent choice, the structure of the questioning as well as the way of data collection and data analysis. The last one is focused on analyzing, comparing and summing up the results. Data have been worked up in qualitative analyzing software MAXQDA...
Outreach social work with homeless people

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of homelessness and its solution through field social work. In the theoretical part, I analyze the issue of homelessness, specifically the causes of its origin, forms and types of homelessness and possible solutions to homelessness. I also analyze the history, principles, forms and methods of field social work. In the practical part, I draw on the knowledge of the theoretical part of the work and on its basis I conduct research. I conduct research in the form of qualitative research using semi-structured interviews with social workers working with this target group. At the end of the work I evaluate the findings from the theoretical part of the work and part of the research survey and evaluate whether the theory of providing field social work coincides with practice and on what basis field social workers provide field program.

The Bachelor dissertation is focused on the method of social work - field social work - and on the evaluation of the provided services and field social workers from the clients' point of view in terms of the field program Streetwork Cesky Krumlov. The theoretical part of my dissertation explains the general method bases, the personality of the field social worker followed by the description of the field program Streetwork. The research part of this dissertation presents and is based on the interpretation of the interviews with clients of the field program. In these interviews - opinions on the provided services and field social workers were given by the clients. Their answers can be important tool for potential improvements of the services in the future.
Evaluation of client satisfaction with the Sanitka project of SANANIM field programme

Background: The satisfaction evaluation is method of obtaining feedback on the services provided by the Sananim field program within the Sanitka project. It provides clients with the opportunity to "share" their experience with the program, comment on individual interventions, or express the need for a new service or intervention. Aims: The aim of the research was to find out whether the clients of the field program Sananim are satisfied with the services offered by the Sanitka project. Above all, it was about local and time availability, the main components of the sanitka project (exchange program, counseling, treatment, testing, staff access) and about identifying the weak points of the service. The research was supposed to provide information on whether the clients are satisfied with the individual interventions, whether they are missing something (and what) within the services provided, and how the services could be improved. Methods and research file: The RAR - Rapid assessment and response methodology was used to collect data. Data collection took place in the form of semi-structured interviews with 30 clients. Comparison of activity of social worker in selected social service facilities

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compar aktivity of social worker in selected social service facilities in South Bohemian Region. The research questions were focused on whether there are differences in the activities of social workers and what these problems are. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis were selected qualitative research, polling method and semi-structured interview technique. A total of 7 different social service facilities from the South Bohemian Region were selected through a register of social services providers of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic based on quotas selection. The selected facilities are: low-threshold facilities for children and youth, field program, professional social counseling, weekly care centre, early care, social-active service for families with children and retirement house. The research file consisted of 8 social workers from individual facilities. The obtained data was processed by the cluster method. The research shows that the comparisn of activity of social workers is most distinct in the target group of the facility. The most paperwork have social worker in retirement house and least paperwork have social worker in low-threshold facilities for children and youth. In some facilities the social worker performs the same work as a caregiver and the only difference between them is the level of responsibility for the work done, especially in the administration. The bachelor thesis can be used for study purposes. The results of the research can also serve to make future social workers more aware of the differences in the content of work in selected social services facilities.
