Marie Kovářová - ethnographer of Podblanicko

This bachelor thesis deals with the personality of Marie Kovářová, ethnographic worker of Podblanicko. It describes her life between the years 1910-1972, from birth to retirement. The major emphasis is placed on the early publication and museum activities. Her biography arose from the analysis of documents stored in Kovářová's personal archive fund and available literature and was supplemented by the information obtained in a small field research. The aim was to evaluate Kovářová's role in the regional homeland work and put her personality into contemporary context of the history of ethnography.
Certified Nursing Assistants A "Bottom-Up" Etnography of a Health Care Institution

This thesis is based on a 10-month field work conducted in a retirement home. The empirical part is rooted in the fact that the author of this work actually became a part of the institution for a several months as its employee at the position of a certified nursing assistant. This perspective naturally enabled him to focus on a description of daily routines, taking place within the mentioned institution, from a perspective of a certified nursing assistant as well as on his interactions with the clients, which occur during these daily routines. Paying attention to the mutual interactions of both enables us to perceive how the dominant discourse in public health care works. It is particularly revealed through disciplinary techniques. The analysis of the disciplinary techniques follows the theory of power by Michel Foucault, which seems to prove that not only the clients but also the certified nursing assistants are being disciplined during the everyday practices of the given institution. Their position is at the lowest level of the hierarchy of health care system and this - in a way - dooms them to being disciplined since they are a part of the same routines as are the clients. Assessment level of leanness in the automotive company

Lean management is an approach that has made a revolution in a several industries. The measurement of its approach usually deal with quantitative approaches. However, the expansion of this phenomena lacks of qualitative perspective. Therefore, this is new opportunity to explore new metric to determinate the level of leanness of the organisation. This thesis explores new approach to deal with measurement of leanness. Main goal is to analyse level of leanness in the company automotive industry through the ethnography research and propose improvement which increase current state in that company.
Boredom in the film Untitled

Based on a literature in the fields of psychology, visual anthropology and sensory ethnography the thesis examines boredom in film, especially the critical potential the boredom has. The key is the question, what happens in film if seemingly nothing is going on. Boredom in film is studied specifically on the example of Stephanie Spray's fims, anthropologist and filmmaker associated with Sensory Ethrnography Lab (SEL). Boredom is conceptualized as an interesting emotion encouraging sensing here and now. The thesis does not promote boredom, rather shows it as an sustainable approach towards audiovisual media and representation of the reality.

The Lean concept arises from Toyota Production Syste (TPS). Then, the concept of leanness includes Value, Waste and Continuous Improvement. An organization with high level of leanness creates higher value to customers with lower level of waste within a continuous improvement environment. The examination of these diploma theses determines a new approach of lean measurement. Although, the use of ethnography is new in Lean management, it opens new possibilities to understand the behavior of the people about the organizational leanness.
Methodology of Non-Destructive Research into Historical Fabrics of Ethnographic Nature from the Period between 1850 and 1950, Their Documentation and Identification MEP (Methodology of Ethnographic Research).

The major goal of the methodology is to deliver an instrument for documentation and identification of fabrics in ethnographic collections of museum institutions. The methodology uses a set of describable and measureable properties of fabrics acquired through research into and documentation of museum collections. With regard to the group of presupposed users and the nature of researched objects – historical textile with cultural value, the methodology is suggested as a non-destructive one. The research methodology includes several steps aimed, as follows: first of all at a professional documentation of fabrics using non-destructive methods focused on the discovery of describing and measurable properties of an object and the technological analysis of historical fabrics of ethnographic nature; secondly, at the identification of ethnographic fabrics at collection institutions through the comparison with a set of the already summarized data about historical fabrics, including their photographs with examples of fabrics selected at museum repositories. The Educational programme about folk-customs and traditions using the Permanent Expositions of the Museum of Prácheň in Písek

This Bachelor theses aims at an elaboration of the educational programme about folk-customs and traditions using permanent expositions of the Museum of Prácheň in Písek. Description of this programme realisation and the subsequent evalutation is an integral part of the theses. At first there is theoretically defined the subject of museum education, its objectives and methods. There are also reflected the principles in the creation of museum and educational programmes as well as the rules for preparation of worksheets. The following chapter charts the contemporary museum education in the South Bohemia. Except the Museum of Prácheň in Písek there was described the situation in other major museums (Aleš South Bohemian Gallery, Southern Bohemian Museum in České Budějovice, Regional Museum in Český Krumlov, The Museum of the Jindřichův Hradec Region, Prachatice Museum, Museum of Central Otava Region of Strakonice and Hussite Museum in Tábor) by means of questionnaire at the beginning of 2015.  The third and key chapter is dedicated to the concept of the museum programme at Advent time. It describes the subsequent execution of this project which was implemented with two classes of the Business College and the Language School in Písek before Christmas 2014.

Geographic-ethnographic characteristics of the region Podluží

This diploma thesis ?Geographic-ethnographic characteristics of the region Podluží? concentrates on the territorial boundaries of the region Podluží, characteristics of the physical-geographical systems, socio-economic sphere and ethnography of the region. The theoretical part deals with the key terms that are the cornerstones of this thesis. Following practical parts are devoted to the definition of the region Podluží based on a comparison of source maps and questionnaire survey. Geographic and ethnographic characteristics serve as a source of information for didactic transformation, resulting in the production of the billboard. This billboard provides a synthesis of the characteristic features that create the original image of the region Podluží.
Children's folklore and his influence on the development of child's personality

In this dissertation we are dealing with the current situation of children{\crq}s folklore and with its influence on the development of child's personality. It is based on individual components of public performance and on ethnographical knowledge, which we put into consequence with the problematic of children free-time activities. In that way we offer an insight on the potential of children{\crq}s folklore and its impact on the children{\crq}s personality development. The dissertation is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part, we put the emphasis on the opinions of notable persons of our ethnography and partial disciplines of public performance. It is also based on experiences and opinions of people, who work with children and youth in the areas related to the children{\crq}s folklore. The second part is a practical part. It contents the description of practical activity of children{\crq}s folklore group Šafránek and interviews with its members. To the dissertation belongs an audiovisual attachment.
