Selected contemporary ethical issues of journalists'self-branding in the era of digital media network
Šponerová, Adéla ; Moravec, Václav (advisor) ; Osvaldová, Barbora (referee)
This thesis examines the impact of the process of personal branding in the era of networked digital media on the Czech media scene. With the emergence of new technologies and social networks, society and media have undergone significant transformations, which have led, for example, to changes in the norms of the journalistic profession. The paper focuses on the process of branding in journalism and identifies ethically controversial aspects related to this phenomenon. The analysis of a research sample of Czech journalists reveals diverse approaches to branding. At the same time, it highlights the changes in the perception of the journalistic profession and the penetration of non-media elements into the journalistic field. The study also describes what challenges and opportunities this activity brings. It also points out the shortcomings of ethical standards and the absence of approaches that would reflect the new media reality. Despite its many limitations, the work presents the reality of contemporary journalism and provides a starting point for further exploration of this phenomenon in the Czech space.
Ethical dilemmas in supervision
Filípková, Barbora ; Veselý, Arnošt (advisor) ; Zatloukal, Leoš (referee)
This study aims to explore the factors that play part in ethical dilemma decision making for external supervisors in social work. Using qualitative methodology it looks at what dilemmas supervisors meet in their practice, what decision making processes they undertake and specifically what factors help them to make those decisions. Two areas of factors were identified - internal and external. The overall conclusion is that supervision ethics is a complex field that requires constant reflection and effort on the part of the supervisor. At conclusion I present some recommendations for better ethical decision making in supervision: attention to prevention rather than control, developing ethical sensitivity and maturity, better ethical education, more professionalisation in supervision

Civil law aspects of self-driving vehicles Abstract This dissertation focuses on the civil law aspects of the still relatively new phenomenon of self-driving cars. Considering that what distinguishes an autonomous car from a conventional car is mainly the autopilot software, which enables its autonomous driving without driver intervention, the legal analysis of the autopilot is given special attention. The aim is to provide a comprehensive analysis of this phenomenon from all fundamental aspects of civil law. The dissertation is divided into a total of five parts. The first introduces autonomous cars and their classification from a technical point of view. The second part deals with the civil law nature of the autonomous car and the autopilot software. After an initial definition of the terms, the autonomous car and its software are considered in terms of their nature as a thing, their status, their copyright protection and their nature as a product. The third part provides a legal assessment of the main contracts that may typically be entered into in connection with their use. These include the purchase contract and, given the interdependence of the autonomous car with the autopilot software, the licence and the software-as-a-service agreement. The fourth part is devoted to the ethical aspects of the use...
An ethical evaluation of philanthropic strategies employed by charitable organisations operating in Mongu district of Western Zambia
MUTEMWA, David
This study has been prompted by the fact that very little is known about the ethical aspects and operating strategies of charitable organisations in Mongu district of Western Zambia despite an influx of such organisations in the area from pre-colonial times. The aim of the study is to evaluate the ethical aspects of philanthropic strategies employed by charitable organisations operating in Mongu. Within social work, which is the guiding framework of this study, evidence of results alone does not satisfy the ethical aspect because ethics in social work are mainly deontological in nature, which means that the end does not always justify the means. The study endeavours to contribute to the discourse of philanthropic social work and, especially, towards a model for evaluating ethical aspects of philanthropic strategies of charities from the unique context of the charitable organisations operating in Mongu district of Western Zambia, which will also inform praxis in other similar contexts.
Media without virtue? Ethical aspects of the digital structural transformation of the public
Vizina, Petr ; Štica, Petr (advisor) ; Ovečka, Libor (referee)
The thesis is an attempt to capture some of the ethical and social challenges posed by the digital structural transformation of the public. In the text I develop the idea of the social doctrine of the Church, which considers media as a means of communication as a gift from God. The paper investigates whether and how this fundamental aspect of Christian social ethics can be considered in the context of the fundamental transformation of social and individual communication during digital structural change. The thesis aims to explore how and where classic norms of journalism such as impartiality, balance and factuality on the part of the media are shifting and changing in a new context, in the context of the spread and availability of digital technologies and how digital platforms have transformed the production and dissemination of media content. Questions around the economic and knowledge asymmetries associated with the development of communication technologies, and the social and ethical implications for the actions of individuals and communities are part of the consideration. Nietzsche's Will to Power
Štolc, Jaroslav ; Sousedík, Prokop (advisor) ; Prázný, Aleš (referee)
Master's thesis focuses on the potential relationships between the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche and the ideology of Nazism. With an approach that emphasizes the complexity and wide range of this issue, the study strives to analyze Nietzsche's texts and interpret them in the context of Nazi ideology. The work is structured into four chapters, focusing on Nietzsche's philosophical concepts, ethics, critical views on his philosophy from other authors, and political aspects of his ethics. The key point is Nietzsche's ethics and its potential connections with Nazism. This work attempts to provide a deeper and more objective view of Nietzsche's philosophy, thereby contributing to a better understanding of his work and possible correlations with Nazi ideology.
