Empathy in pre-school children and its support

This bachelor thesis deals with empathy in preschool children and contributes to knowledge about emotional development of preschool child. It also explains the relationship between empathy and prosocial behavior and highlights the importance of empathy in social skills. Furthermore, it also tries to summarize the current possibilities of developing this ability, not only in the context of the family environment, but also in the context of teachers in kindergartens. This bachelor thesis also relies on theoretical findings within the individual chapters on the results of foreign research. The research proposal is aimed directly at promoting empathy in preschool children, both within the family environment and in the kindergarten environment. Its aim is to map the whole of this phenomenon and its possibilities from the perspective of parents and kindergartens. Besides, it tries to map out whether the development of this ability is part of educational goals in these environments and also how parents and teachers try to develop this ability.
