Pupil 's learning style and its role in the process of foreign language acquisition for younger school-age pupils

Učební styl žáka a jeho role v procesu osvojování slovní zásoby v cizím jazyce u žáků mladšího školního věku Kateřina Smolíková ABSTRACT The thesis deals with learning styles and their role in the process of vocabulary acquisition. The theoretical part characterizes the basic concepts associated with learning styles, their typology and the history of their research, their diagnostics and pedagogical application. Furthermore, some previous research concerning the effectiveness of respecting the student's learning styles in teaching is mapped here. The practical part describes a research survey, which aims to identify students' learning styles and compare the level of acquired vocabulary depending on the way in which the new vocabulary was presented to students. The comparison of the level of acquired vocabulary took place in three groups, whose learning style preferences differed from each other. It was a visual-verbal and kinesthetic-aural group and a group of students without a preference for learning style. At the same time, the practical part also analyzes the percentage composition of the preferences of learning styles of individual respondents and compares their results with their preferences. The Current State of Teaching of Cultivation Education at Primary Level of Basic Schools - Monitoring and Probe Options

In the theoretical part, the thesis maps the occurrence of topics regarding teaching of Cultivation Education in current textbooks as well as occurrence of the same topics in textbooks before the general education program has been introduced for elementary schools. The practical part ascertains the student's knowledge level in field of Cultivation Education and checks the attitudes and opinions of teachers in the same topic. The data are gained using the questionnaire survey in three groups of respondents students of fifth grade of the elementary school, students of the Faculty of Education (future teachers) and teachers of the primary degree of the elementary school. The practical part consists of the research methodology and quantitative research results. The results show that elementary school students' level of knowledge corresponds to the general education program. By research it has also been proven, that elementary school teachers generally do not possess a very positive attitude concerning the Cultivation Education. Future teachers, on the other hand, show much more optimistic relationship to this area of education.
Analytical View of the Use of Facebook of Elementary School Students aged 9-15 years

This work shows the rate of use of Facebook of pupils aged 9 to 15 years in selected elementary schools in Prague, Brno and Ostrava. The aim of work is to describe new trends in communication of children and adolescents. The secondary objective is the prediction of the use of Facebook in the future. The aim of theoretical part is to describe what Facebook is, who the users are. I focused on psychological and social characteristics of children and adolescents, their communication, both face to face and virtual. Methodology of the practical part consists of analysis of the use of Facebook groups mentioned. It is focused mainly on determining of the research questions and hypotheses, the results of the survey and discussions.
