Diplomatic recognition of the USSR by Great Britain and the United States

This bachelor thesis deals with diplomatic recognition of the USSR by Great Britain and the United States. In the first part the development of the Soviet diplomatic tradition is introduced in the reference period, i.e. 1917-1933, with the description of key aspects of foreign policy of the Soviet Union. The second chapter is devoted to the question of recognition of the USSR by Great Britain, containing a brief description of tsarist regime commintments to Britain. The third part clarifies the recognition of the USSR by the United States with emphasis on economic cooperation during 1920s and it's role in the recognition of the USSR de iure. Conclusion of this thesis introduces a comparison of both cases focusing on four aspects (reaction on bolshevik coup d'état and consolidation of the AUCP(b) leader role, role of post-war German question and tsarist Russia debts, volume and development of international trade, engagement of domestic political situation) in order to identify and explain the delay between recognition by Great Britain and by the United States.
Czechoslovak foreign trade with countries of the European Community in the period 1969 - 1989

This paper discusses the importance of Czechoslovak foreign trade with the EEC countries for the period of normalization. In the theoretical part, the author defines the issues of foreign trade. It deals with the variety of business concepts, tools of trade policy and the overall importance of international trade for the economy. In the analytical part describes the main organizations affecting foreign trade relations of Czechoslovakia after World War II, relations between the two organizations, bipolar division of the world and the position of Czechoslovakia in world trade. In the second part, the author analyzes the overall Czechoslovak foreign trade, territorial distribution and commodity structure of exports and imports. The last part focuses on the evaluation of the importance of trade with the EEC Member States, its development and shortcomings.
Commercial Relations between Slovakia and France

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyze commercial relations between Slovakia and France focusing on finding other opportunities for future cooperation in various fields. The thesis aims to explain the importance of the trade as well as the political relations between the countries, their development and direction. The first part deals with economic and trade cooperation and foreign trade statistics. The second part is devoted to the investment environment of Slovakia, types of the investment incentives and possibilities of the state aid for those interested in investing. This section includes also the benefits that Slovakia offers to French investors. The third part presents the investment spheres of Slovakia in which French partners have established their businesses and in which they are working nowadays. The fourth part of the work describes a chronological order of the development of bilateral relations since the establishment of Slovakia through its changes of government officials up till now. The conclusion of the thesis is an analysis of perspectives and suggestions in the areas of further cooperation between France and Slovakia.
Diplomatic relations and economic cooperation of Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union in 1948-1968

Tato práce je zaměřena na zkoumání politických a ekonomických souvislostí vztahů Sovětského Svazu a Československa v období po nástupu komunismu v roce 1948 až do 1968, kdy se uskutečnila intervence států Varšavské smlouvy, která ukončila reformní proces v ČSSR. Obsahuje charakteristiku vztahů dvou zemí v období před rokem 1948, které vytvořilo předpoklady pro vzájemnou spolupráci a vycházela z konkrétní politické situace jak ve vnitřní politice, tak i na mezinárodní scéně, a po roce 1968, pro které bylo charakteristické ekonomický úpadek a pokles vzájemného obchodu mezi zeměmi, samotné zkoumané dvacetileté období, které je považováno za nejúspěšnější v dějinách takzvaného Východního bloku a obou zemí, kdy jejich politická a ekonomická váha ve světě dosáhuje vrcholu pro Československou republiku v poválečném období a pro SSSR v dějinách země, a také charakteristiku fungování Rady vzájemné hospodářské pomoci, v jejimž rámci probíhá vzájemný obchod ČSSR a SSSR v tomto období. Úlohou práce je pak zhodnotit pozitivní a negativní stránky vývoje vztahů mezi oběma zeměmi v tomto období z politického a ekonomického hlediska.
