Lower secondary school media education: Reflections on available programs and design of new lessons

The aim of the present diploma thesis is to focus on teaching aspects of media education. In the first chapter it defines the term media literacy, presents the conception of this concept by different educational institutions in the international context and compares them with each other. In the next chapter, the Czech concept is introduced and compared with the previous ones. Space is also devoted to the topic of media education, media pedagogy and media andragogy. It is followed by a section dealing with the situation of media literacy in Czech schools in the light of surveys conducted, which focuses on their conclusions. In the next part, the thesis maps the didactic foundations for teaching media education, focusing on two projects dedicated to it. It presents their introduction and compares two specific programmes. It also presents an overview of several other projects that offer didactic support to teachers in teaching media education. On the basis of the identified gaps in the Czech concept of media education, a lesson designed for upper elementary pupils is proposed. The theme of the proposed teaching approach is based on the broader international concept of UNESCO and deals with news values. Media education as a mean of development of lower secondary school student's critical assessment

The thesis is focused on the influence of media education of the ability of students of the second grade of elementary schools to interpret media communication. The reader will be provided an insight into the issue of media and their influence on a person with a main focus on the students of the second grade of elementary school. The second part of this thesis present the concept of media education, it offers a proposal for a block of media education with assessment of the impal of teaching on the respektive competencies of the students. The effectiveness of the teaching will be assessed through research surveys designed as a qualitative comparison of students' testimonies after completing a media education course, using the group interview Focus group. The questions are focused on the critical analysis of media communication, whereas students' answers are compared with a control group that was not equally educated. Where food comes from? Tutorial program for second grade of primary school - workbook (plant products)

Diploma thesis is focused on finding information for second grade of primary school of problems plant products and post-processing tutorial workbook (plant products) called Where food comes from? In the theoretical part first describe the theory workbook, its structure, evaluation and characterization of the concept of education at the second grade of primary school. Consequently, the theoretical part of the work devoted to essential individual plant products such as cereals, legumes, vegetace oils and fats, potatoes, drinking, fruits and vegetables, thein origins and significance for human health. The practical part includes the development and implementation of the educational program (workbook) plant products. In the practical part I find information students of second grade from primary schools in the field of plant products with the help of a questionnaire survey, which was attended by 90 respondents and subsequent evaluation of the graphical part.
