Domestic violence and its prevention

IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TÉMA PRÁCE: Domestic violence and its prevention In my diploma thesis, I deal with the topic of domestic violence and its prevention, which is a societal problem across all cultures. It is specific in that this negative phenomenon occurs in private, in a place that should be a place of safety and love, among people who are emotionally attached to each other. The aim of the presented work, systematically organized into 8 chapters, is to provide the reader with a complete set of information on the issue of domestic violence and to introduce him to the methods of protection provided by the Czech legal system. The introductory chapter is devoted to the general historical development of domestic violence, the theoretical definition of the concept of domestic violence, which has not yet been legally defined, it also presents the defining features that define domestic violence, its forms, summarizes the individual myths and prejudices of society. In the second chapter, the work is focused on individual subjects, i.e. the person of the perpetrator and the victim. Subsequently, a brief development of legislation in the field of protection against domestic violence is outlined. Typology of domestic violence events, their motivation and conditions in the so-called coronavirus era

The theoretical part of the thesis explains the concept of domestic violence, its manifestations, the characteristics of perpetrators and victims, and legal protection within the Czech legislation. This part is important for a better understanding of the whole issue and for better orientation in this area. The main objective of the thesis is to assess the changes in the functioning of helping organizations in the České Budějovice during the covid-19 pandemic compared to the standard state and any disruption of the usual course of action in providing assistance during the pandemic measures. Emphasis is placed on determining the impact of quarantine on partnerships and family relationships during a period of increased mental stress. The main goal is also to determine whether there has been an escalation or a decrease in domestic violence during this time. The work will involve analyzing data obtained from intervention centers in the České Budějovice, which will provide important information about the situation regarding domestic violence during the pandemic. The results of this work will serve to improve understanding of this issue and improve support for victims of domestic violence. It is necessary to ensure that all necessary resources and support are available for domestic violence victims. This work can contribute to greater awareness of this issue and improve conditions for those affected by it.
Social Work with the Aggressor of Domestic Violence

This bachelor thesis focuses on social work with the aggressor of domestic violence. In the theoretical part the basic concepts of domestic violence are defined. Furthermore, the theoretical part describes the actors of domestic violence, the definition of perpetrators of domestic violence and social work with the aggressor of domestic violence. The practical part of the bachelor thesis includes the processing and evaluation of the results obtained during the research investigation. The main aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out what methods of social work are used when working with aggressors of domestic violence. A qualitative research strategy was used to fulfil the aim. Survey method and semi-structured interview techniques were used to collect data for the research. The main research question was: What social work methods are used in working with domestic violence aggressor? Communication partners for the sample were selected through purposive sampling. The open coding method was used to evaluate the qualitative data. The research shows that only some methods of social work are used and other methods of social work remain in the background either because of the poorly set social system in the Czech Republic or because the method is not functional due to the characteristics of the clientele. In order to use some social work methods, a change is needed in the social system of the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the research shows that in the Czech Republic the assistance to aggressors of domestic violence is insufficient. The bachelor thesis can contribute as a basis for improving and expanding social work with aggressors of domestic violence. The bachelor thesis can also serve as an information material for the public.
Comparison of the system for dealing with domestic violence against women in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway

The master thesis deals with a comparison of domestic violence in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway. Domestic violence is a serious problem, occurring in all societies regardless of time or culture. The thesis describes the funding system, the legislative framework of the issue, the main actors in the issue of domestic violence against women, the current situation with regard to the issue of domestic violence and the system of support both in the Czech Republic and in the Kingdom of Norway. The main objective is to describe and explain the approaches to dealing with domestic violence against women. The thesis is based on the theory of welfare state regimes, which is based on Esping-Andersen's 1990 typology of the welfare state, focusing on the concept of "women friendly" originally from 1987, as well as on the theoretical "public health approach", which focuses a lot on prevention, and is complemented by expert interviews with experts on the issues in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway. Seniors as people at risk of domestic violence

The work focuses on seniors as people at risk of domestic violence. The work theoretically defines domestic violence, old age and seniors, then focuses on the specifics of domestic violence committed against seniors. The thesis defines the risk factors that can prevent domestic violence, it also focuses on the effects of domestic violence on the elderly. The thesis also deals with the ethical aspect of domestic violence and provides an ethical evaluation of violent behavior. Emphasis is placed on possible forms of resolving domestic violence. The thesis focuses on ethics in social work, deals with the code of ethics and values that are crucial in working with vulnerable seniors. The thesis describes the approach of a social worker to an endangered senior in solving domestic violence. The conclusion describes the case studies of vulnerable senior women who transfer theoretical knowledge to the practice of social work with seniors at risk of domestic violence.
The issue of domestic violence in the Český Krumlov region

The thesis deals with the readiness of Český Krumlov police officers to deal with domestic violence, i.e. their knowledge of concepts and police methodologies in the field of domestic violence, the institute of eviction and internal police tools. Furthermore, the availability and frequency of training to strengthen the expertise and sovereignity of police officers when responding to incidents of domestic violence. The theoretical part defines the phenomenon of domestic violence, namely its characteristic manifestations, its impact on the life situation of victims and the possibilities of assistance. It also explains the activities, central norms, internal acts and tools of the Police of the Czech Republic for dealing with cases of domestic violence. The practical part verifies and compares the findings with the results of A qualitative research survey conducted among police officers of the district departments of the Český Krumlov Police.
Ethical dilemmas of social work with people threatened by domestic violence

This diploma thesis deals with social worker's ethical dilemmas by people endangered by domestic violence. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters and is focused on domestic violence characteristic, its forms and causes and the legislation and prevention connected with this topic. Further it is concerned with the characteristic of crisis assistance, code of ethics, intervention centers and the specific features of work with the people endangered by domestic violence. The fourth chapter describes often encountered ethical problems and dilemmas associated with the field.
Impact of the covid-19 pandemic and its regulations on development of domestic violence

The bachelor thesis deals with a study of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and related measures on the development of domestic violence. The theoretical part introduces the reader to the issue of domestic violence and characterizes the pandemic situation in the context of a crisis. The practical part consists of qualitative research, conducted through semi-structured interviews, focused on issues from a perspective of social workers in České Budějovice. Among the respondents are staff of the intervention center and two crisis centers. The presented analysis identifies aspects of domestic violence which, according to the interviewed staff, were most affected by the pandemic and the associated restrictions.
Impact od domestic violence in family on the child from the perspective of social workers of social and legal protection of children

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of domestic violence in the family and its impacts on the child from the perspective of social workers OSPOD. It describes the family, domestic violence, valid legislation, CAN syndrome. Attention is paid to children as witnesses and direct victims of domestic violence, social work with a family affected by domestic violence focused on the specific activities of the OSPOD. Dilematic situations on the part of social workers are mentioned. The work focuses on the various effects of domestic violence on the child's psychic state and behavior, on his moral development, study results, relationships with peers, parents, partnerships and contact with the aggressor.
