This master thesis is especially focused on identification of areas which are convenient to use prevention tools leading to reduce the negative impact on environment caused by technology of metal surface finishing. This issue is dealt in company called ZETOR TRACTORS a.s. In another part of this thesis, there are suggested variants solving problems in the identified areas. These variants are analysed and then one of them is chosen and recommended to application in this company. For this thesis principles of Cleaner Production Technique are used. In the end there are noticed the first experiences with the suggested prevention provision in practice. In the Literary review, there are described Czech legal requirements of emplacement and operation of technologies of metal surface finishing in terms of environmental protection.
Voluntary agreements in the environment - advantages and disadvantages

The diploma thesis topic is Voluntary agreements in the environment problems and advantages. The theoretical part describes how the attitude to the environment was developing, from the restrictive regulations to the first voluntary attitudes. The part of the thesis is devoted to the problems of the environment´s valuation because one of the tasks of the voluntary agreements is the effort to internalize externalities. For this the valuation of the environment is needed, which is problematic. At first the voluntary attitudes to the environmental protection are described in general and there are voluntary agreements that are described more in detail. The practical part is devoted to the problems of voluntary agreements in the Czech Republic. All voluntary agreements made in the Czech Republic are described. These particular agreements are assessed according to their results whether they fulfilled their purpose because of which they had been made. The component of the practical part is also a questionnaire which was to be filled in by companies which have been using some voluntary attitude, e.g. EMAS, ecolabeling or some voluntary agreement. In the conclusion the attitude of The Ministry of the Environment to the voluntary agreements is assessed as well as the effect of the voluntary agreements in the Czech Republic itself.
The analysis of consumer labels with especial focus on their environmental aspects

This diploma thesis describes marking of goods and services which help raise competitive producers on the market and also help to consumers in decision of purchasing products. In this time there are on the Czech market many labels describing the quality of goods. There is the special focus on the eco-labelling, which is label for positive effect on the environment. In this thesis there is described the history of voluntary approaches in chosen countries. My work analyses labels and their functions on the Czech market. There are also views of consumers on marking goods and services. At the conclusion I investigate producers' options on labels of goods.
Voluntary approaches as an alternative environmental tool

This paper is focused on finding the motivations that guide companies in Czech republic to apply voluntary approaches. The aim of this work is to define the most effective voluntary approaches. Economics has already analyzed conditions under which voluntary approaches are more preferable than administrative and economic environmental tools. But the question is if the business practice reflects theoretical recommendations. Based on a survey, the most common motivations to apply voluntary approaches will be analyzed. Then it will be possible to identify or modify the most effective voluntary approach.
