Student with depression: the perspective of a close person

This thesis focuses on students with depression and their close persons. The aim of this thesis is to map various aspects of coexistence with a student suffering from depression. It uses the perspective of these close persons, whose support of students with depression is essential. The teoretical part deals with defining the concept of depression using a historical perspective and the perspective of diagnostic manuals. It also focuses on various aspects of depressive illnesses, including their impact on life of the individual. The last chapter of the theoretical part then deals with coping and coping strategies. The empirical part of this paper tries to map different strategies of support for a student with depression, which close people tend to choose. In the case of depression, as a very serious illness, it can also be assumed that the psychological state of these close ones will be affected. Following this assumption, this work also tries to map the coping strategies that close persons use to support their own mental health. A qualitative methodology was chosen to attain the research objectives. Colored modification of Wartegg's drawing test at the patients with psychiatric diagnosis

The bachelor thesis is dealing with coloured modification of Wartegg?s drawing test at patients with psychiatric diagnosis. Because there?s wide spectrum of problems of mental disorders, the attention of the research was focused on diagnosis of depressive disorder. Theoretical part was elaborated on the base of analysis of technical literature that is dealing with this subject. The attention was mainly focused on the explanation of basic terms relevant to said problems. The centre of theoretical part is Wartegg?s drawing test and his coloured modification. Theoretical part is also dealing with diagnosis of depressive disorder. The matters of empirical part are results of quantitative research, in which were used methods and techniques of participant observation, nonstandardized interview, secondary analysis of information ? analysis of documentation. The main method of the research was the coloured modification of Wartegg?s drawing test. The empirical part of thesis provides study and description of each sign of coloured modification of Wartegg?s drawing test which are typical for patients with depressive disorder. It describes them from both - content and formal angle. It?s done on the base of comparison of results of respondents without this diagnosis.
