Bracing in the treatment of children with clubfoot
Dědičová, Sára ; Sládková, Petra (advisor) ; Malá, Michaela (referee)
Title: Bracing in the treatment of children with clubfoot Objectives: The diploma thesis aimed to introduce the issue of pes equinovarus congenitus (PEC) with a focus on conservative treatment procedure using the Ponseti method and to verify this procedure in practice. The secondary aim of the diploma thesis was to create a brochure for parents of children with PEC. Methods: The research method of the diploma thesis was a case study based on the real treatment procedure of a proband with pes equinovarus congenitus. The research included one female proband early after birth and started 4th day after birth. Conservative treatment by Professor Ponseti was indicated for the proband. The evaluation of deformity development was conducted using the Pirani scoring scale and goniometric measurement. The research was conducted from 2 December 2022 to 22 March 2023. Results: Goniometric examination revealed a reduced range of motion of dorsal flexion of 20ř at the beginning of the intervention. At the end of the research, dorsal flexion of 35ř was possible. Initial examination of the proband revealed a Pirani score of 3, out of a maximum possible score of 6. After a relatively short period, the score dropped to 0.5. During further measurements, the score dropped to 0 in all areas. Keywords: deformity,...
Testování háďátka octového (Turbatrix aceti) a substrátů pro eliminaci olejových látek z povrchové blanky pro raná stádia okouna říčního (Perca fluviatilis)
PŘIBYL, Tadeáš
This thesis evaluates an alternative life food Turbatrix aceti for feeding of European perch in its early life stages and the possibility of oily substances elimination from the surface water layer in perch aquaculture. It is of crucial importance to provide perch live food up to 20 days after hatching. Artemia sp. is commonly used for perch feeding in its early life stages. Five different feeding treatments with six replicates in each treatment were performed. The main investigated parameters were fish survival and growth (weight). Average survival (expressed as the number of fish survived) in each of five feeding treatments were: T 107, A5T1 5 145, A10T10 150, A 196 and A15T5 207. Treatment A and A15T5 were not significantly different. After termination of the experiment, the average weights in mg ? standard deviations after 20 days of rearing in given treatment were: A - 28.0 ? 7.7; T 2.9 ? 1.4; A5T15 4.4 ? 3.3; A10T10 7.4 ? 1.1 and A15T5 - 15.9 ? 2.7. The results indicate that Turbatrix aceti cannot be used for rearing of perch early life stages, since mortality was higher and weight lower than in control group, where Artemia sp. was used as a live food. The second experiment tested the possibility to reduce amount of swim bladder inflation failures in perch intensive aquaculture using several types of surface substrates. Swim bladder inflation rates in each treatment were as follows: O 55%, S 40 %, MT 58 %, ML 38 %, PP 65 %, C 48 %. The treatments were not significantly different from each other. Used surface layer collectors of oily substances have not been proved successful, since the percentage of successfully inflated swim bladders were not different from the control treatment, where no surface layer collector of oily substances was used.
Optimalizace intenzivního chovu larev candáta obecného (Sander lucioperca L.)
MORAVA, Jakub
The aim of this master thesis was test, comapre and observe the best density of rotifers (Brachionus plicatilis) for growth and survival of zander (Sander lucioperca) larvae stage in the recirculation aquatic systém (RAS). The secondary experiment tests initial feeding of zander by dint of rotifers and consequently by mix of rotifers and artemia. Main experiment observe effect of different density of rotifers on survive and growth of zander. Other observe parameters such as Fulton´s coeficient, total lenght of fish, weight of fish, etc. Fish was divided into 4 groups with different density of feeding and the control group without feeding. Rotifers has been used in density of 2, 6, 10 and 20 pieces per larva. The best growth in "D" group has been compensate by lower surviving. On the other hand the best ratio of survive has been observe in "C" group, which showed lower growth. The optimal rate of growth and survive has been declared in "B" group, which were feed with dose of 6 pieces rotifers for larva. In the second experiment were observe body changes of zander after initial feeding by rotifers folowed with feeding mix of rotifers and artemia. There were observe successful fulfillment of gas bladder and deformation of fish body and spinal after 40 days of keeping larvae in RAS. In the end of experiment there were also observe defirmations body - for example missing lower jaw, upper jaw or both of them. Spinal deformities occured in the form of scoliosis, lordosis, kyphosis and zig zag distortion. The experiment has shown that unsuccessfully filled gas bladder is closely related to the formation of deformitiy in the zander. Another negative factor that affects the filling of the gas bladder is grease on the surface of the water level, so I recommend installing the grease trap in the fill phase of the gas bladder.

Title: Remodeling cranial orthoses during child growth Objectives: The main aim of this work is to give a comprehensive overview of the deformities of the newborn skull, especially of the positional plagiocephaly, and their therapeutic solution with a focus on helmet therapy. Method: I used the method of qualitative data collection from literature, published professional articles and journals. I subsequently consulted with the supervisor Ing. Pavel Černý, Ph.D Result: The number of children with positional plagiocephaly has increased significantly since 1992 as a result of the "Back to Sleep" campaign of the American Pediatric Association (AAP), which recommends that babies should be placed in their supine sleep position in an effort to reduce the incidence of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The incidence of SIDS has decreased, but the prevalence of plagiocephaly has increased. There are two non- invasive methods to treat this deformity: positioning therapy and helmet therapy. Helmet therapy is undoubtedly a very important part of the treatment of head deformities. It is an effective non-invasive method with minimal risks and complications. Keywords: cranial orthosis, deformities, positional plagiocephaly, therapy, diagnosis, non- invasive method
Unfitting shoes as one of causes deformities on feet ,influence prevention and effect compensatory utilities
KAŇKOVSKÁ, Martina
I deal with problems of the most common claw-foots in this Bachelor thesis which are caused particularly by influence of unsuitable footwear and other causes. I located these causes on the basis of a questionnaire in the practical part of this thesis.
