Information System for the Support of the Trainig Activities

This Diploma thesis describes the process of analysis and design of an information system supporting training activities. The system is based on the web pages. It is creating an information system, that would allow monitoring the nutritional plan, strength training and sports activities of an athlete. The system allows each athlete to be assigned a dietitian and a coach, who take care of his/her nutritional plan and training. The athlete has immediate feedback atd of his success and has better conditions to meet his ambitions.

Tool for Database Model Visualization of Existing Database

This project tries to give information to the user in a simpler way. In the database system a lot of information exists which describes the database model. Text representation of this information is bulky and not well-arranged. You can get a much a more vivid view at the database model by using visualization and you can work with it easier. You get information from a database system by using a tool developed in this project and after that you can visualize them in a editor or viewer of your choice. This tool can convert one file format to another.

Information System for Lodging Services

The aim of this thesis is to design and implement a web information system, which is tailored for specific lodging service. By this service is meant Salesiánský klub mládeže z.s. Dům Ignáce Stuchlého, which is specific by lodging not individuals, but groups, for instance classes or families. Therefore the design and implementation handle with lodging and meal order for such groups, not only from the database point of view, nevertheless also the user interface.

Comparison of relational and object-oriented database models

This thesis compares relational database model with object-oriented model. In this work, there are analyzed both of the models and determined criteria of comparison. Criteria of comparison are based on form of data storage, data types, inclusion of operations, relationships, inheritance, encapsulation, polymorphism, and the last criterion is the query and definition language. Database models are compared on theoretical level and common and different features are sought.
