Influence of mining on environment in respect to ecotoxicology
Kociánová, Sabina ; Vávrová, Milada (referee) ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (advisor)
This thesis deals with an influence of mining on environment from the point of view of ecotoxicology. First focus in the thesis is on overall impact of coal mining on environment. The thesis is especially closely focusing on mine water, its formation and negative influence on aquatic ecosystem. In this connection the thesis mentions examples of ecotoxicological evaluation, so called acidic mining water. The thesis also mentions legislative scope that is related to the issues about protecting environment against impact from coal mining and subject dedicated to restoration of affected areas.

critical Evaluation of metrhods for determination of Sulphates in waters
Havelková, Ludmila ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Sommer, Lumír (advisor)
The aim of this work was the evaluation and method optimalization for determination of sulfates in aqueous solutions with application on different kinds of waters. For determination of sulfates were used two different procedures, turbidimetric and volumetric. In turbidimetric procedure was use optimized conditions applicable determination of sulfates in range from 0 – 20 mg.l-1. For stabilization of the colloid was use glycerine, himself sulfates sedimentation is discharged in BaSO4 form. By volumetric methods are used titration on the dithizone like indicator while using Pb(NO3)2 like volumetric reagent. Other indicator bromsulfonazo III, whitch are used for determination of sulfates by the help of volumetric solutions Ba(ClO4)2 and BaCl2. All volumetric determinations proceeded in acidic medium. During research of interferences ions on the individual titraction was detected substantial effect Ca2+, Mg2+ and Fe3+, which was needing divide off on the exchanger resin. Ions aforementioned don't interfere turbidimetric determination of sulfates.

Monitoring of Loučenský end Radčický streams.
Grajzová, Denisa ; Pecharová, Emilie (advisor) ; Martin, Martin (referee)
The thesis deals with the monitoring of small streams Loučenský and Radčický creek. Both streams are located in heavily anthropogenic influenced landscape of Foothills. The negative impact of human activity takes effect both in inconsiderate riverbed adjustments and quality of water in them. As a part of the monitoring based on selected parameters there was assessed water pollution in areas directly affected by the discharged mine water. Physical-chemical parameters of water were evaluated. The specific parts of the flow was monitored for evidence of benthic organisms. Based on the results there was determined saprobic index and diversity index. Both flows by their nature correspond with range of trout to grayling zone, but the current water quality prevents the occurrence of fish typical for this zone.

The properties of surface waters affected by coal mining.
FAFÍLKOVÁ, Veronika
I watched the chemical characteristics of wetlands and surface waters in the vicinity of Lake Medard. This lake is a residual hole (after brown coal mining activities) which is now being filled with water. It is situated in Sokolov cadastre. I used physical, chemical and biological characteristics of water to characterize the surface water. The values have been compared with indicators of other surface water ecosystems. They were compared with Eger river water and with water from the south Bohemian fishponds. Results of comparing showed that all parameters of observed waters are very different. Surveyed parameters of the average concentrations are several times higher or on the contrary lower at individual sites of interest. Sites of interest are characterized by high levels of dissolved substances in water. Particularly problematic are sulphate anion concentrations and concentrations of Na, Ca, Mg, Zn, Mn and Fe cations.
