Model of comparison defined pension age break-even point, which represent age when the total amount of contributions payd are equal to retired pay received. Korčáková, Barbora ; Dočkal, Dalibor (advisor) ; Krebs, Vojtěch (referee)
European integration is a complex and long-lasting process, which gradually affects all areas of national policy. A very up-to-date problem is also an unsustainable pension scheme facing many member states and which is the reason why European Union starts to deal with it more and more. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to characterize the pension schemes in selected member countries (Sweden, Germany, United Kingdom) and then find the differences and similarities between them. Furthermore, the thesis analyzes the current state of coordination of national pension systems within the European Union and other possible development in this area. In the model, which assumes a single European pension system, the advantages and disadvantages of its implementation are pointed out through a SWOT analysis on the example of the Czech republic. The conclusion of the thesis collects information and responds to the question whether the existence of a single European pension system is feasible.

The thesis describes the historical evolution of the EU social policy, clarifies the concept of the European social model and deals with characteristics of the basic models of the European social policy. The essential part of the thesis is devoted to the comparison of the social systems in Germany and Sweden from the point of view of the amount of taxes and social contributions, the structure of receipts and expenditure on social policy, the systems of old age pension schemes, the family policy and the unemployment benefit. The comparison shows some typical elements of the social state model that these two countries represent. The attention is also devoted to the contemporary challenges which the European social model has to face, especially the demographic development and aspects of globalization. The attitude and responses of the European Union to these challenges are also mentioned here.

Old Age Scheme in the Czech Republic
Důsledkem toho mají vlády snahu vytvářet systémy penzijního zabezpečení, které tvoří více pilířů, čili kombinací státní garance určitého minimálního důchodu a fondového systému.
