Comparison of ELT methods used in a bilingual preschool and a language preschool

This bachelor thesis is aimed at comparing ELT methods based on analysis of observed lessons in a bilingual and language preschool, which focus on teaching English. The theoretical part describes eight teaching methods generally used in the teaching process and characterizes their main principles. The explanation of terms method, approach, technique and principle is included in this part as well. The practical part contains description of individual observed lessons and analyses the application of ELT methods put in practice. The outcomes of the study are based on frequency of accurence of the teaching methods. Further, the results of observations in both preschools are subjected to mutual comparison.
Options of outdoor teaching environmental education in urban kindergarten Čéčova

This thesis focuses on the environmental education of preschool children of ages 3 to 6 in outdoor places. The theoretical part describes the basic principles, contents and means used in environmental education in kindergartens as a cross-section theme of preschool educational programmes. It puts emphasis on outdoor forms of education which lead to practical introduction to the world around us and seek to awake the need to care for nature and the life in it, because these are essential parts of human environment. The chapter concerning the safety of environmental education is no less important. The practical part of this thesis focuses on preparation and description of particular options of outdoor environmental education in the busy parts of České Budějovice near MŠ Čéčova, and their application in accordance with the educational programme of this particular school.
Vaclav Čtvrtek and his work for pre-school children

The diploma thesis deals with the benefits of Vaclav Ctvrtek’s work for pre-school children. It shows the aspects of Ctvrtek’s work which are important for the drama – educational methods in kindergartens on the basis of literary analysis of chosen books. The thesis describe the practical use of methods and techniques of drama education in realised projects. As a conclusion it displays the possibilities of planning specific projects considering the needs of the children group.
Drama Education in Forest Kindergartens

In my thesis - Drama Education in Forest Kindergartens - I am describing the environment, philosophy and ways of the Czech forest kindergatens. I am specifying how the environment of those kindergartens influences the use of drama education - the natural space being the most influential feature. The thesis includes analysis of dramatic activities in three forest kindergartens which I visited and describtions of my own drama education projects implemented in Forest Kindergarten Pramínek (Světice, CZE): The Conference of Birds (educational project), Djiro and Four Sacred Scrolls (theatre performance), Dramatic education for forest kindergarten teachers (seminar).
The media influence on children's play behavior

The topic of this thesis is media influence on children's play behaviour. In particular the thesis will be discussing role-models in the media that children may try to copy in their play and play behaviour. The aim of this thesis is to highlight the extend of the influence the media as on children's play, in particular the influence of TV programs. The theoretical part will focus on the development of play of a preschool child. There will be summarized current information on media influence in human development, mainly the influence of TV programs on preschool children. The practical part concerns scientific research in 4 South Bohemian nursery schools. This part will focus on eliciting of data about the specific role-models that preschool children like to identify with. It will be described and researched the reasons why these role-models hold such an attraction for preschool children.
Little With as a theme for the dramatic education in kindergarten

This thesis deals with use of dramatic education in kindergarten. It compares goals, possibilities and ways of preschool education and dramatic education. The thesis offers a dramatic education project, which originates from the book of Ottfried Preussler "Little With", further on it decribes and evaluates the implementation and outcome of the project, and reflects the feelings of children, their parents and classroom teachers.

This thesis represents the different theoretical concept of leisure time set in a historical context. Presents an overview of researches in the area of spending leisure time and parents´ opinions on leisure activities of their children. This thesis deal with social determinants of spending leisure time. Also includes a view of leisure time as a tool for educational action. The research is focused at parents of preschool children. It examines parents´ perceptions of the ideal way in which their children spend their leisure time. The research asks parents what they consider as a leisure time, determinants of spending leisure time. Further asks for what parents prefer or vice versa reject like a way of spending leisure time and what they consider as suitable or unsuitable activities of leisure time.
THE SCHOOL THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD

The bachelor thesis is focused on the school in the eyes of a preschool child. The theoretical part characterises a preschool period as a whole and points out some specifics of the period. Additionally, it deals with the description of cognitive processes, the specifics and typical personality characteristics occurring at preschool children. The theoretical part also covers children´s imagination and a way in which children create their own interpretation of a reality. The attention is paid to emotional and a social development, which is a very significant aspect for a successful development, and drawing which works as an information about the mental world of a child. And last but not least, the school is described as a new medium which places new demands on a child and a family. The practical part is engaged to a research survey which should give answers to the following topics: Children´s imagination of their future school and the teacher. The ideas about school and after-school activities; what is the reason for going to school etc. The outcomes of the interviews are compared to the answers of adult respondents who were asked the same questions. In the practical part, the following methods were used: semi structured interview and drawing.
Creative play for preschool children with an overlap in the area of environmental education

This work deals with art (creative) game for preschool children with an overlap in environmental education. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on explaining the basic concepts of environmental education, the development of preschool age. Environmental education is also described as solved by General educational program of preschool education. Important chapters for the creation of this work such as the creation of games and putting games, are included. The practical part deals with creating games Help, each hand good and its applications in kindergarten Netolice. This section reviewed the results of games and applications also addressed environmental issues with which preschool children acquainted.
