Význam vitaminu D a jeho metabolitů v reprodukci živočišných organismů
Červenka, Jiří
Vitamin D is considered to be a group of molecules that have many functions in animal organisms. The best known of these is the key role in calcium and phosphorus homeostasis and regulation of bone mineralization. In recent years, however, many new functions of this vitamin have been discovered, such as the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation, its influence on the immune system or its function in animal reproduction. This thesis deals with the importance of vitamin D in animal reproduction with an emphasis on livestock. In the literature review, the occurrence of receptors for vitamin D in cells of various types of different tissues of reproductive system, particularly in mammals and birds, and the function of various metabolites mediated by these receptors are discussed in the individual chapters. The thesis includes the design of methodology, which would test the effect of vitamin D on reproduction of the male and female domestic chickens. The hypothesis could verify, whether or not, Rhode Island Red cockerels, that would be fed a diet with a higher vitamin D content would demonstrate better ejaculate parameters and higher fertilization of eggs laid by Rhoade Island White hens inseminated with this semen. Furthemore, a solution is proposed to verify the hypothesis, assuming higher hatchability and lower embryonic mortality in hens fed higher vitamin D feed mixture. The result would be compared with hens and roosters of the same breeds, reared in an environment with the same conditions, fed a vitamin D deficient feed mixture.
Anatomy of the human uterus vascular supply with respect to uterus transplantation
Křístek, Jakub ; Froněk, Jiří (advisor) ; Turyna, Radovan (referee) ; Stingl, Josef (referee)
Anatomy of the human uterus vascular supply with respect to uterus transplantation Abstract This dissertation thesis deals with the blood supply of the human uterus and its relevance to uterus transplantation. The first section summarizes what is commonly known of the anatomy of the arterial and venous uterine blood supply including collaterals. It also quotes a few classical anatomical texts, illustrates the transplantation technique, and the pros and cons of utilizing uterine grafts from living and deceased donors. The second section deals with nine publications, the first of which aimed to verify the existence of ipsilateral and contralateral arterial anastomoses. Both types were verified in all specimens (9/9). The second publication analysed two cases of graft thrombosis. The first was brought about through narrowing of the uterine artery, while the other was caused by compression from hematoma. Thrombectomy was unsuccessful in both cases. The third publication compared the utility of CT to that of MR angiography for evaluating uterine vessel quality. These two methods are complementary. The study presents a new radiological classification system suggested to assess uterine vessels. Another publication reports the interim results of a Czech uterus transplant study. Another study presents a uterus...
The nursing process by a patient with diagnosis Uterïne myomatosis
Klímová, Petra ; Kulhavá, Miluše (advisor) ; Di Cara, Veronika (referee)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is the nursing process of a patient diagnosed Uterus myomatosus. The chosen theme seems to be a truly current issue as the number of operations, particularly hysterectomy due to Uterus myomatosus, is on the top chart position (due to statistics of Registr komplikací gynekologické laparoskopie). Myomas are tumors hormonally connected with estrogenes. They are significant for every fourth woman in her productive age, most common at about 40 years of age. The goal of thesis is based on a specific case study of a patient of department of gynecology, who was supposed to have her uterus removed through laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy. Furthermore I wanted to inspect what is the education of such patients in terms of their stay at department of gynecology, particularly before and after the operation. The methods I used were: case study, casuistry of a patient of department of gynecology of a regional hospital. The sources of information were literature, professional Czech as well as foreign articles, interviews with the patient and the nursing staff and the patient's records. The analysis of nursing care at the department of gynecology showed, that nurses in performing nursing care department manages standards and recommended practices. Another result of my...
Sexually liminal periods in the lives of women in Ancient Egypt
Svobodová, Markéta ; Vymazalová, Hana (advisor) ; Pehal, Martin (referee)
The thesis seeks to explain the sexual passages of women related to fertility, such as menstruation, pregnancy and birth, in the ancient Egyptian world. The passages related to fertility have strong connotations with death in the Egyptian mythological context. The aim of the thesis is to understand this relationship, often metaphorically conveyed in iconography or in the netherworld literature. The thesis collects material from various sources, archeological, textual, iconographical, not only Egyptian, but also Greek and Roman. The methods used vary from cognitive linguistics and semiotic analysis to religious anthropology. Menstruation, pregnancy and birth in ancient Egypt are explained not only on the level of the understanding of the body of the Egyptians, but also in terms of what role they play in iconography and mythology. Furthermore, the relationship between birth and death is made with regards to fertility. The basic findings of this thesis consist of illustrating a dichotomy between the feminine nurturing principle of and masculine creative principle which appear in different contexts related to birth and death: in iconography, on the level of bodily fluids, or in mythological creation.
Nursing care about patient with uterine prolapse
Chadrabová, Štěpánka ; Svobodová, Hana (advisor) ; Popelka, Jiří (referee)
This work deals with the nursing care about a patient related to uterine prolapse. The theoretical part provides information on anathomy and physiology of female reproduction organs, it summarises possible solutions of the problem of uterine prolapse and it briefly describes possible surgery. The clinical part presents a case report of a patient who underwent vaginal hysterectomy. The nursing process is based on the model by M. Gordon. A special attention is paid to the patient's mental state.
Effect of intrauterine autoplasma application on mare fertility
ŠTĚRBOVÁ, Hana
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of intrauterine plasma infusion on conceiving rate in selected group of mares during the breeding seasons 2008 and 2009. The fresh sperm insemination was followed by the infusion of self-plasma and subsequently the successivity of the insemination was compared with the control group of mares. Next, there were observed following factors which could influence the effectiveness of conceiving: age of the mares, number of insemination doses, size and location of preovulating follicle, month of the year. There was also evaluated the difference between multiparous (with one and more births) and nulliparous mares. The statistical analyses were proceeded by the use of contingency tables and the one-factorial analysis of variance (ANOVA). Next, the regression and correlation analyses were used. All the statistical procedures were performed with the use of statistical software STATGRAPHICS Plus 5.0. The results showed that there were the same results in observing of both number of insemination doses and fertile heats evaluation. There was found no significant effect of plasma infusion on the conceiving rate. In the model with the effects of plasma infusion and the age of the mare there were found statistically significant differences. It means that the effect of plasma infusion on conceiving rate was confirmed in the mares of the age up to 14 years. The result of the following analysis is the non-significant difference in conceiving rate between the groups of multiparous mares with or without plasma infusion.
