Layout solution of a small workmanship within a given company
Urban, Antonín ; Peterková, Eva (referee) ; Štroner, Marek (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the process of making a disposition draft of a small machineshop producing 70000 bearing housings per year. Theoretical part of this thesis is focused on fundamentals of designing machining production units. Practical part describes in detail the process of designing dispositional solution for the machineshop which is based on performed capacity calculations. These calculations were used as a guide in the process of designing two diferent machineshops. The first one is fitted with conventional machining devices whereas the second machineshop uses CNC mills to produce the housing. These two projects are compared to each other to give reader a better picture on which machineshop of the two is better.
Miners as a profession in the background of the Ostrava region.
Hybešová, Kateřina ; Mücke, Pavel (advisor) ; Krátká, Lenka (referee)
This thesis deals with the development of mining and mining colonies in the Ostrava region and also deals with the interpretation of interviews with miners performing their profession in the Ostrava-Karviná mining district between years 1950 and 1994. It focuses not only on the development of the environment and mining conditions in the Ostrava region, but also reasons and motivations for choosing a demanding and often life-threatening profession, as mining is. The thesis is produced using inductive method, where the processes at the individual level apply to wider groups. Such processing allows me to process interviews with witnesses alongside traditional written sources. The finding of the thesis is the fact that there are three main motives for the choosing of mining profession, which are family tradition, the possibility of not participating in two-year compulsory military training and last but not least, the above-standard wage. The thesis offers another view on how workers in socialist Czechoslovakia lived.

Inter-caste differences in the anatomy of termite Embiratermes neotenicus (Termitidae: Syntermitinae)
Vacek, Kryštof ; Šobotník, Jan (advisor) ; Nakládal, Oto (referee)
I devote my thesis to the inner anatomy of termites, as exemplified by Embiratermes neotenicus (Blattodea: Termitoidea: Termitidae: Syntermitinae), in which I studied differences in particular inner organs between worker and soldier. In the first part I described the general body structure typical for sterile castes in termites. I deal with the development, structure, size and also with the purpose of individual organs. These are namely exocrine and endocrine glands, central nervous system, digestive system, fat body, respiratory and circulatory systems, gonads, and muscles. In practical part, I examined worker and soldier of Embiratermes neotenicus by means of optical microscopy. I successfully analysed the development of particular organs and the overall structure of the body. In the discussion section, I compare both castes and put my observations into a broader context.
