Watermarking 3D Models
Stehlík, Václav ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is dedicated to embedding and extraction of watermarks to/from 3D models represented by polygonal mesh. The goal is to choose a suitable method for watermark embedding and extraction to/from a 3D model for the purpose of implementing a tool of such capabilities. The resulting solution uses methods proposed in article A Novel Blind Robust Digital Watermarking on 3D Meshes . Used methods create two watermarks. 'OTC' watermark that changes vertices of the model and 'Zero' watermark that does not change the model at all. These watermarks provide robustness against attacks and modification such as translation, scaling, rotation, simplification, random noise, remeshing and vertex reordering. Used methods also preserve imperceivability of watermark thanks to minimal changes of the model. Methods are blind and do not require original model. The tool is implemented in a form of simple web application which allows user to embed and extract watermark to/from files in stl format. This work includes testing and evaluation of success and usability of the tool against various attacks on chosen test set of models.
Watermarking 3D Models
Honzátková, Tereza ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
Goals of this work are to summarize the process and existing methods of 3D models watermarking, to choose relevant methods for embedding/extraction of a watermark to/from 3D models. The final solution is based on Spectral Mesh Compression technique. This method is robust, imperceptible and informed. The embedded watermark is detectable and robust against geometrical transformations, added random noise, mesh smoothing and simplification, compression and cropping.  The realized tool allows a user to embedding watermark into the mesh, modify the mesh and extraction of a watermark from mesh. Testing was conducted on a set of 5 models differing in size, shape and density of points. The resulting tool inserts a watermark composed of four characters that can detect both undamaged models and the models affected. Among the attacks against which the watermark is robust, include transformations, rotation, scale, adaptive random noise, and combination of this.
A comparison of copyright protection of authors and performing artists
Martinka, Marek ; Křesťanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Holcová, Irena (referee)
A comparison of copyright protection of authors and performing artists The aim of this thesis is to compare the legal regulation of the authors' rights in their works and the performing artists' rights in their performances as it arises from the Czech Copyright Act. I have chosen this topic because it requires profound study of the Copyright Act, good understanding of most of its provisions and their analysis. In my opinion, this kind of research could be very useful in my upcoming profession. Besides it seems to be quiet an actual theme, as for example the term of protection of these rights is largely discussed of late. The structure of this paper is following. The first three chapters are introducing the main characteristics of the authors' and performing artists' rights, their development and the main sources. Other chapters are dealing with the comparison of the protection itself. I examine the aspects I consider to be crucial. It is the subject of the rights, the object, moral and economic rights, the criterions of the protection, the contractual and non-contractual obligations and the term of protection. Two final chapters are focused on the collective management and the infringement of copyright. It can be concluded that the protection of the performing artists' rights is a bit weaker. It is...
Copyright protection in music industry
Cittová, Gabriela ; Křesťanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Holcová, Irena (referee)
In this work, the copyright protection in the music industry is discussed. I am focusing in particular on the description of copyright, rights related to copyright, collective management and protection of these rights. In the beginning, I mention the national, international and European sources of copyright and I am explaining the concepts of copyright, copyright work (including musical and processed work of art), and authoring. Furthermore, I explore the copyright law in terms of its origin, content and restrictions. Copyright is based on the quasidual concept, which simply means that we distinguish the moral rights from the property rights. In this work, I explain the content of all of these individual rights. I also address the licensing contract, by which the author authorizes another person to administer the rights to use his piece. I am focusing on cases of the so-called non-contractual use of production, which means that the user may use the work without the consent of the author and free of charge. Furthermore, I define the idea and the content of performer's rights to his artistic output, the manufacturer of the sound and image recording rights to his sound recordings and radio and television broadcaster's rights to his broadcast. At the end of this work, I am focusing on the activities of...
Convergence of Copyright and Trademark Protection
Holub, Lukáš ; Žikovská, Petra (advisor) ; Holcová, Irena (referee)
Convergence of Copyright and Trademark Protection Key Words: Copyright, Trademark, Protection, Convergence Abstract: The thesis analyzes the concept of copyright and trademark protection in Czech law and the consequences of their simultaneous operation. The aim is to determine whether the existing legislation responds the current trends and demands in our society, where business and arts are becoming interconnected and where the boundaries between those disciplines are blurred. Both protections are initially assigned to theoretical context of legal branches of intellectual property and intangible property. The author also deals with current conception of ownership in Civil Code. Following chapters are based on the principles of civil (continental) law concepts of copyright law and industrial property law established in this part. Subsequently the regulation of copyright protection and trademark protection is discussed in two separate chapters. Those chapters are divided into identical sub-chapters to highlight similarities and differences of both legal institutes. The focus is on subjects of both protections, their beneficiaries, formation, content, duration, means, limitations, international context and the issues of licensing. In the chapter devoted to convergence, various situations which might occur...
Copyright Protection and the Use of Computer Programmes
Domin, Lukáš ; Holcová, Irena (advisor) ; Žikovská, Petra (referee)
Copyright Protection and the Use of Computer Programmes Abstract In this diploma thesis, the author deals with copyright protection and the use of computer programmes. The aim of the work is to create the most comprehensive overview of the substantive law protection of computer programmes, including issues of use of a computer program by persons other than its author. The work is divided into three parts. The first, most extensive part (chapters 1-7) is devoted to the mentioned comprehensive overview of the substantive regulation of copyright protection of computer programmes. Part of this part is a short excursion into the history of computer programmes and related principles of legislation at the international and European level. The following is the definition of a computer program, including a brief explanation of how computer programs are created and what their functionality is. After that, the author deals in detail with the rights that are created to the software author by creating the software, always on specific cases from practice. The following is the issue of granting and exercising copyright in software, if it is created by a larger group of people who may act in different legal relationships. The sixth chapter discusses in detail the possibilities of using computer programmes by people other...
Copyright protection of architectural work, current development trends
Güttlerová, Alice ; Žikovská, Petra (advisor) ; Křesťanová, Veronika (referee)
Title of thesis Copyright protectionof architectural work, current developmental trends Abstract This thesis explores the concept and protectionof architectural work and developmental trends in this legal area in the Czech Republic with respect to the valid copyright legislation. Architectural work is a work expressedthrough an architectural drawing, study, project documentation or a model, whereas in the absolute majority of cases the building itself is a reproduction of the architectural work. Subsequently, architectural work in the form of a building cannot be equated to the legislative term of architectural work in the sense of the copyright law. The work may be protected as architectural work only in the case that it fulfills the conceptual traits of author's work stipulated by the copyright law. These are defined both positively as well as negatively whereas the copyright law exempts some author's work from the copyright protection.Accordingtothe copyright law architectural workis definedas unique work of art which is the result of the creative work of an author and is expressed in an objectively perceivable form. Copyright therefore does not protect architectural ideas (concepts, notions) as such, but only their outer expression. The value of the work and its social significance is not decisive for the...

Pavelcová, Andrea ; Císařová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Žikovská, Petra (referee)
The objective of the master's thesis called 'Photograph as the copyright and copyright protection of photographer' is to describe the basic foundations and characteristics of the current regulation of copyright work, specifically of photography. The Czech legal system do not contain a complex regulation of photography; therefore, the thesis deals with the individual aspects of copyright law related to the characterisation of photographs as a copyright work, the rights of photographers or their rights related to the protection of their copyright. The thesis is based primarily on copyright law commentaries, copyright regulation on the Czech, international and European level and on the decisions of both Czech and foreign courts due to rapid development of copyright law in the information society and the inflexibility of the current legislation. Due to the author's interest in photography, the thesis is enriched with personal observations from her own experience with photography. The thesis is divided into seven chapters. The first deals with the general description of copyright, its principles, basic concepts and the moment of copyright formation. Chapter two focuses on photography and discusses the subject of copyright protection. Chapter three deals with authorship of photography, defines under...
