Gender Stereotypes in Contemporary British Historical Period Drama Series. Comparative Analysis of Downton Abbey and Mr Selfridge.

The diploma thesis named Gender Stereotypes in Contemporary British Period Drama. The Comparative Analysis of Downton Abbey and Mr Selfridge compares the marks of gender stereotypes and conservative principles in British period drama series. The analysis of their clash with progress in society and technology during the first two decades of the 20th century is performed on the method of qualitative content analysis of two examples of popular contemporary British costume drama Downton Abbey and Mr Selfridge. The theoretical framework of the thesis is based on the concept regarding history in film. The main category of research is the work with female characters and their social roles in Edwardian Britain which is characterized by unprecedented social change. The objective of the thesis is to analyze the way a female character reflects stereotypes and conservative principles that are usually believed to be characteristic features of period drama series. Additional objective is to examine how the 21st century society is mirrored in manipulation with stereotypes and social values in the series. Comparison of the use of neo liberal concepts of economic policies of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan

The aim of this work is to answer questions of effectiveness in controlling inflation, changes in unemployment rate, reduce government spendings, deregulation and decentralization in both countries, confirm or refute theoretical assumptions of Laffer´s curve on the example of consequence of tax cuts in United States of America, privatization and the implications of the fight with the unions in Great Britain and the overall effect of the implementation of neoliberal concepts in both countries. This work compares the implementation and impact of neoliberal concepts of economic policy in the UK and in the United States and it provides insight into the effectiveness of the chosen means.
Christianity and fascism

This thesis deals with the influence of christian faith on the formation of ideological grounds of fascist movements (French Action, Falanga, Iron Guard) and real activities as social work and charity which result from this influence. The text is divided into four consequential chapters. The specific theme is introduced to a reader in the first chapter. Three fascist movements (their leaders, history, ideology) are described in the following one. The third part deals with the influence of christianity on the formation of the ideological basis of these movements. The final part concerns with real activities of christian-based organisations.
Religious and political dimension of Petr Hájek's thinking

The thesis deals with religion, political and conspiratorial dimension of Petr Hájek's thinking. The main purpose of thesis is seamlessly interdouce these interrelated dimensions of Hájek thought. The religious part is aiming on Christianity in Hájek´s thought, on its historical menaing for Western civilizations, on its modern rejection and on apocalyptic prospect of contemporary Western civilization. Political part interdouces Hájek´s opinions on democracy, political right and political left, on the current political situation and his own political program. Conspiratorial part shows Hájek in his conspiratorial theoris according to which contemporary society is manipulated in the interests of governing group.
Political vision of V. Klaus

The thesis analyses the thinking of Václav Klaus based on clashes with his rivals during his political career. The thesis works with hypothesis that Klaus is in this thinking connected with New Right, which was mainly present in world politics by Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. Values of Klaus are first analysed theoretically via analysis of conservatism, liberalism and finally their synthesis in so called New Right. Next part of the thesis provided evidence for hypothesis on national level, where Klaus was minister of finance and prime minister and third part on international level with Klaus as president of Czech republic. The hypothesis is confirmed at the end by summarizing evidence, which arose from particular chapters.
The accounting presentation of risks of the public sector entities

The diploma thesis is devoted to presentation of risks in the financial statements of the public sector entities, where the main objective is to evaluate the degree of presentation of risks in the financial statements and to assess of the current legislation and its possible amendments. The first chapter deals with the definition of the public sector and defines the term "selected accounting entity". The following chapter describes the general concept of risks, focusing on the public sector and on generally accepted principles and guidelines of accounting, in particular the conservatism. The third chapter discusses the accounting law for selected accounting entities and selected instruments of the accounting presentation of risks, including the comparison with the IAS/IFRS, IPSAS and US GAAP. The last chapter is divided to the practical parts, which the first one is based on data analysis of Central System of Accounting Information of the State (CSUIS) and the second one on the evaluation of the questionnaire survey for addressed accounting entities.
Initiative D.O.S.T. as a radically conservative challenge of present

This thesis focuses on the analysis of initiative D.O.S.T., currently one of the most important Czech extreme-right groups. D.O.S.T. comes with a radically conservative critique of current concepts and direction of democracy, yet she managed to reach support among political parties accepted as legitimate and also influential public figures. The work is based on the assumption, that the main reason for this is that the initiative despite being extremely right-wing organization, highlights also real deficits of democracy. Therefore it can be seen as a challenge of present. The aim of this paper is to analyze critically this challenge by mentionning the initiative in all relevant contexts. The paper therefore deals firstly with the intellectual and political roots of its founders in the extreme right-organization called Právo a Spravedlnost. After it analyzes the initiative itself, its manifesto, activities, the main problematised issues and linkages with other political forces. In conclusion, the papers considers the perspective of eventual genesis of a new political party established by the initiative D.O.S.T.
Political vision of Vaclav Klaus

This bachelor thesis deals with opinions of Vaclav Klaus, which are compared with teoretical basics of liberalism and conservatism. The main goal is to point out Klaus'es values according to both ideologies. First part of thesis describes main values of liberalism and conservatism in theoretical way, which are then compared with Klaus'es opinions in main events of his political career. Second part describe those events. To 2003 was Klas in institutional function as finance minister and prime minister, so this event are from this point of view. In 2003 was Klaus elected to the highest institutional function - president of Czech republic. So th third part describes his opinion of European union and global worming as president.
Climate changes - a view of conservatism and environmentalism

The topic of this thesis is the issue of global warming in terms of political ideology - conservatism and environmentalism.. For comparison, I chose two representatives - Vaclav Klaus and Al Gore. The aim of this work is to compare ideologically conditioned responses and their political implications. This is illustrated by the example of two personalities of world politics representing both different attitudes toward the issue of global warming and climate change and different ideologies - Václav Klaus and Al Gore. The work is methodologically based on an analysis of ideology of conservatism and environmentalism and on an analysis of empirical knowledge regarding global warming.

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse the economic and political development in the United Kingdom under Margaret Thatcher and to judge, to which degree the measures applied by the government of Margaret Thatcher were applicable to the Czech Republic, respectively, to which degree the government of Václav Klaus (1992 -- 1997) was inspired by the British approach and which the practical results of this inspiration were.
