A look to the future through the eyes of adolescent boys placed in institutional education facilities

The bachelor's thesis deals with the future of adolescent boys who are placed in a diagnostic institute for youth. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the current concept of adolescence together with some changes that occur during this developmental period. Furthermore, the future is introduced as a concept in the field of psychology. The core of this chapter is the introduction of the concept of future orientation and its context. The following is an explanation of the concepts of risky behavior and conduct disorders and the system of educational care in the Czech Republic is introduced. The empirical part describes qualitative research, which was conducted on the basis of semi-structured interviews with boys placed in the diagnostic institute. Six boys aged 15-18 were included in the research. The aim of the research was to map the view of the future of the mentioned adolescent boys. The results show that boys attach great importance to their career focus, regardless of whether they have an idea of their specific future profession. Furthermore, the importance of the current family in starting their own family is shown. Life experience influences future images, especially in the area of lifestyle and family relationships. The comparison of the educational environment of groups of adolescent girls with and without conduct disorders

The presented thesis deals with the comparison of the educational environment of adolescent girls with and without conduct disorders. It concentrates primarily on the educational environments of family and school, in respect of their importance for the socialization of the individual. The theoretical section first briefly characterizes the adolescent period in its bio- psycho-social aspects. Furthermore it is dedicated to the issue of conduct disorders, their classification, symptoms, but also the etiology or specifics of these problems in girls. In conclusion, it offers insight into correlation between different characteristics of the educational environments and conduct disorders with a focus on the specifics in girls. The empirical part then aims to compare the educational environment of girls with and without conduct disorders through twenty detailed case studies of girls aged fourteen to eighteen. One half of the studies concerns with girls placed in institutional facilities, because of their problematic behaviour. The other half is focused on girls without educational troubles. Subsequently the work tries to find possible common features for both groups separately and then also compares these groups mutually. Conduct disorders as a result of specific learning disorders

This thesis focuses on relationship between specific learning disorders and conduct disorders in puberty. The theoretical part explains the basic terms apearing in the thesis such as specific learning disorders, conduct disorders, puberty and prevention of conduct disorder formation. It presents Czech and foreign research which have already been done in this and related areas. The empirical part uses a quantitative method to measure anxiety and occurrence of conduct disorders in second grade students in 2. ZŠ in Třeboň and ZŠ Londýnská in Prague. Data gained from children with specific learning disorder are compared with data from children without disorder.
