School maturity and postponement of school attendance and speech disorders

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of school maturity, the communication level of preschool children and the postponement of school attendance from the point of view of speech therapy and school counseling facilities. The theoretical part contains three chapters devoted to topics necessary for defining the qualification work. The content of the first chapter is an introduction to the theoretical framework of communication and child development from birth to preschool age with a primary focus on speech development. The second chapter defines impaired communication ability from the general basis to the specifics of communication of children in preschool and younger school age. The third chapter analyzes the support of preschool children's communication skills, the area of school readiness with the examination of school maturity in a pedagogical-psychological counseling center and postponement of school attendance. In the practical part, the methodology of qualitative research and the research investigation itself are presented. From a methodological point of view, we worked with the analysis of data obtained through semi-structured interviews with a clinical speech therapist, a child psychologist and a special pedagogue from a pedagogical-psychological consultancy. Art Therapy in Special Education with Orientation on the Treatment of Speech Therapy

This thesis is focused on the application of art therapy in the field of special education. Gradually, it focuses on individual fields of special education and expands on the applicability of art therapy in speech therapy intervention. The theoretical part aims to define art therapy as part of special education. It describes the development and intertwining of three different areas: fine arts, psychotherapy and education. Defines the term of special indication of art therapy and approaches the specifics of art therapy in individual fields of special education. It also focuses on the main features of the drawing of people with disabilities. The thesis focuses next on the field of speech therapy, where it tries to make visible some parallels between the development of drawing and the developmental stages of character drawing and the developmental stages of speech. It also focuses on the application of art therapy in therapy in children and adults, in neurodevelopmental speech and language disorders and acquired neurogenic speech disorders.
