Beekeeping in the school practice

This thesis deals with the topic of beekeeping and its usage in education. The aim of the thesis was to create a study plan for lower-secondary school students to show them beekeeping and enlighten them about the importance of the environment. This educational plan can be used by teachers, as well as by leaders of hobby groups. The basic knowledge about beekeeping and its role in the educational process are described in the literary review. This part of the thesis mainly focuses on the bee communities, products, illnesses, and feeding. The second part of the thesis focuses on the plan itself, which is based on Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education and its subpart 'People and nature'. It consists of methodological instructions, presentations, and worksheets connected with the plan. It also includes a partial practical verification.
The Beekeepering in The Czech Republic on crossroads

The thesis entitled The Beekeeping in the Czech Republic on Crossroads aims to get in the current issues of beekeeping. It describes the field of beekeeping, one of the oldest human activities in terms of biology, ecology, history, sociology and practical use. The methodology of this thesis is set in the framework of qualitative research and the discipline of social and cultural ecology which is based on multidisciplinary research. During the research a questionnaire construction was used. The research part focuses on the social and generational issues of beekeeping and reveals the motivation of my respondents for keeping bees. Furthermore it interprets the opinion of my respondents on beekeeping organizations in the Czech Republic, their connection with nature and their own outlook for the near future of beekeeping. In the discussion I summarize the results of the interviews with my respondents and in the conclusion I re-evaluate the aimed goals of my thesis and I give suggestions for further research possibilities in this field.

Medical and treatment varroasis moderating in bee farming and beekeeping as didactical topic

The rigorous dissertation extending the graduation thesis deals in its general part comprehensively with a parasitic mite Varroa destructor and its relation to the bees of the Apis genus (with focus on the species Apis mellifera). Both the host and the parasite are comprehensively introduced in terms of systemic classification, anatomical constitution, biology, developmental cycle, learning the mutual relationship, diagnosis, spreading, treatment and prevention of varroatosis in honey-bearing bees (Apis mellifera). As a part of the rigorous dissertation, there is discussion on Eastern honey bee (Apis cerana), concentrating on its spreading (subspecies) and its defence against varroatosis. The dissertation also mentions basic information about the American foulbrood (Histolysis infectiosa perniciosa larvae apium) and nosemosis. It also states the infection situation of Varroa destructor in the period of 2004-2010. Last but not least, I attempted to outline the infection situation of Varroa destructor on selected continents. Practical part of the dissertation lists the actual results of experimental incubation of Varroa destructor together with the honey-bearing bee in different temperatures. Beekeping in Czech Republic

The purpose of my bachelor thesis is to compile the literature available to give an integrated summary of beekeeping in the Czech Republic and to describe the most serious illnesses of the bees. Such as bee the literature available American foulbrood end varroasis including brief processes how they can be healed or how to avoid them. The importance of honeybee and its irreplaceable role in the ecosystem of our planet is described in the introduction of this thesis. It is mentioned that honeybee is often perceived only like a food source. In the main part, the Czech beekeeping is divided according to the historical dating into a forest, collecting and rational beekeeping as well as into special type of beekeeping colled ,,brtnické''. Then there is a treatise on the formation and the importance of organizations associating Czech beekeepers through years. An additional part of the first half of the thesis is a summary of recently used hives, tools and also ways of unnatural bee´s feeding. The second half of the main part is pursued to serious illnesses in the Czech Republic. This chapter is divided according to originators of illnesses on illnesses made by physical influences or unsuitable food, bacterial illnesses, fungous, viral and invasive illnesses. American foulbrood and illnesses caused by the mite Varroa destructor has the biggest importance because these illnesses make the biggest losses in the Czech Republic. Every illness has own characteristics, originator, clinical diagnostics and therapeutic possibilities.
Evalution of the contemporary state of beekeeping in Vimperk area

The thesis is aimed on the present state of beekeeping in Vimperk area. Main source of informations consists of questionnaire investigation among beekeepers in each beekeeper society in the area. There are five beekeeper societies in Čkyně, Stachy, Šumavské Hoštice, Vacov and Vimperk. The Vimperk beekeeper society, its history and each beekeepers stand are in particular documented. Literary review consists of apiculture history and its significance in the Czech Republic, and the history of beekeeping societies. Also information about support of apiculture and elementary beekeeper terms in relation with the questionnaire supplement the results of the research

Effect of \kur{Nosema apis} and \kur{Nosema ceranae} on colonyof bees

The work is aimed at assessing the influence of Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae on the hive. The literature contains only a limited degree of information about Nosema disease, which caused by both protozoa, that?s why the main aim of this work is to gather all available technical information from various sources, to compare and evaluate them. The result of evaluating the information gathered then is how this disease affects bee behavior, which has implications for breeding bees. The content of this work is first the general characteristics of Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae, their distribution, reproduction and development. A description Nosema disease, such as preventive and disinfecting measures to prezent it and how you can treat already established disease. The findings described by ptrotozoa Nosema apis imply that this protozoa is explored in the vast majority. Nosema ceranae is a recently discovered species and its research is not yet complete. Finally, the thesis summarizes the most important effects of Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae on the hive. These factors include, fluctuating number of individuals in a hive, honey yields lower, in some cases death of the colony and it also changed the behavior of honey bees.
