Clinical Anatomy of the Arteries of the Trumb and the First Web Space
Miletín, Jakub ; Kachlík, David (advisor) ; Stingl, Josef (referee) ; Měšťák, Ondřej (referee)
The thumb is absolutely essential for the flawless function of the hand, and the loss of the structure or function of the thumb almost always means a partial or total invalidation of the patient. Thus, salvage and reconstruction of the thumb is one of the foremost topics in hand surgery. Modern conservation and reconstructive procedures of hand surgery require a completely new insight into the knowledge of vascular anatomy. In order for the information to be comprehensible and well communicated, it is necessary to have a sufficiently detailed, clear and, above all, uniform nomenclature. When taking a closer look at the anatomy of the vessels of the hand, it turns out that authors often do not use generally accepted terms or do not agree on the interpretation of the correctly used ones. The above stated facts led us to the conclusion that, although the anatomy of the hand arteries seems to have been well studied and described in the past, there is still considerable room for sorting out the previously described data, revising the nomenclature, completing the missing detailed description of some anatomical variations and assessing the significance and usefulness of individual structures in relation to trauma and reconstructive hand surgery. This work describes in detail the systemic and topographical...
Physiotherapy after surgical solutions of spastic dystonia of the upper limb in patients after brain damage
Marešová, Zuzana ; Angerová, Yvona (advisor) ; Sládková, Petra (referee)
Bachelor's Thesis Abstract Author's Name: Zuzana Marešová Thesis Supervisor: doc. MUDr. Yvona Angerová, Ph.D., MBA Thesis Title: Physiotherapy after surgery for upper limb spastic dystonia in patients after brain damage Abstract This bachelor's thesis overviews surgical treatment for upper limb spastic dystonia and subsequent post-operative physiotherapy. The thesis consists of two sections, theoretical and practical. Theoretical part describes upper motor neuron syndrome and definitions of two relevant symptoms, which are spasticity and spastic dystonia. This section also contains quantitative estimation methods for spasticity and spastic paresis. This is followed by description of surgical procedures classified based on different upper limb segments. Finally, physiotherapeutic techniques recommended after these surgical procedures are described. Practical section consists of description of two case reports, in which the brain injury led to spastic dystonia that was treated by surgery of upper limb. Each case contains past medical history, entrance and exit kinesiological analyses, functional examination of upper limb using modified Frenchay arm test and physiotherapeutic sessions reports. Based on the comparison of the entrance and exit exams the effect of post-operative physiotherapy was assessed. Key...
The intervention of occupational therapy in patients with impaired hand function after surgery
Neradová, Kateřina ; Oktábcová, Alice (advisor) ; Čábelková, Alžběta (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the surgical treatment of patients with hand impaired function and subsequent intervention of occupational therapy, and the patients who underwent this treatment. Thesis is divided into two parts-theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the function of the hand and the possibilities for its disorders. Subsequently, thesis describes the principles of surgical treatment of various diseases and hand injuries that impair its function. Another part relates to intervention of occupational therapist in patients who underwent surgical treatment of hand. The practical part contains two casuistries, methodology and processed results and discussion. The first casuistry deals with patient with carpal tunnel syndrome solved by surgery. The second casuistry deals with a patient with finger's flexor injury on the left upper limp. During processing has been found that occupational therapy is integral to rehabilitation after hand surgery. Occupational therapy helps to improve the function of the hand grip and the coordination of movement and it is important for gaining the greatest possible self- sufficiency of patients after surgical treatment of hand. At most workplaces, dealing with hand surgery, occupational therapy, however, is not part of rehabilitation,...

Title: Use of dynamic splints for tendon injuries of the hand. Problem: There is a lack of complex information on methods and procedures of dynamic splint production in the Czech Republic . Aim: This thesis provides a complex overview of current possibilites in the area of tendon injury treatment. It also explores various procedures of production and application of dynamic splints. Methodology: The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part contains a research. The practical one consists of a appropriate dynamic and night splint designs and production procedures. Methods of qualitative research in terms of collection, and secondary data analysis of scientific articles are used. Keywords: tendon injuries of the hand, surgery of the hand, damage to do nerves of the hand, dynamic splints, Daho-splints, splinting, orthotics, physiotheraphy, occupational theraphy
