Netíková, Kateřina ; Müllerová, Františka (advisor) ; Novák, Pavel (referee)
The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to explain the specifics of Albania in the business and cultural area, also helpful for business and tourism. The first chapter introduces Albania as a country located in Southeastern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. This chapter mentions its natural conditions, history, and population. Also important is the knowledge of the economic situation of the country, religion, and individual economic sectors. The second chapter analyzes the foreign trade of Albania, its major trading partners, Albania's membership in international organizations, and the question of entry into the EU. The chapter also deals with mutual relations between the Czech Republic and Albania. Following this chapter is a subchapter with a questionnaire survey conducted among companies in the Czech Republic. The aim of the investigation was to determine whether the companies are aware of Albania, or are interested in business cooperation. The third and final chapter discusses the Albanian culture and its impact on business. Finally, the darker sides of this country are mentioned, including organized crime and child labour.
Child labour in the EU
ŠÍSLOVÁ, Lenka
I choose the subject of child labour because this issue is of personal interest to me. During my social work studies at the Health and Social Faculty of the South Bohemian University in České Budějovice, I acquired additional information and became more familiar with the issue of child labour. I wished to become acquainted with this issue in detail and expand my current experience by theoretical knowledge. During discussions of the issue of child labour the opinion that children should work because work is beneficial is often heard. Yes ? working is beneficial for children ? if this work corresponds to the child?s age, if it expands the child?s horizons and skills and if it does not prevent the child from going to school, playing and experiencing a carefree childhood, as this is guaranteed by the Convention of the Rights of a Child, which was signed by nearly 200 countries worldwide, regardless of religion, culture or their development. The issue of child labour is frequently linked to less-developed countries. The possibility that child labour could exist in European Union states is heard less frequently. In many cases child labour in Europe is less visible than in other parts of the world. The current trend in international society, including European Union states, is elimination of child labour. The goal of my bachelor?s thesis was to establish the current situation regarding this issue in European Union states. The theoretical part of my work focuses on areas, which directly concern child labour. In the introduction I map information about what child labour includes, what worst forms of child labour we are aware of. With regard to the fact that my work focuses on the European Union I also give basic specifications about the European Union. I also mention key human rights, their sources and the possibility of international protection of children against child labour. I describe international treaties and conventions, which are devoted to the sphere of child labour, specifically the Convention of the Rights of a Child, the Declaration of the Rights of a Child, the International Convention for Prohibition and Immediate measures for Removal of the Worst Forms of Child Labour and the Minimum Age of Employment Convention. In the next part of my work I obtained and describe the legal regulations applying to child labour in selected European Union states ? I examined the laws of the Czech Republic, Finland and Germany. It is clear that even though the laws of individual countries are anchored in various laws, these laws are very similar in regard to the scope and form of employment of children and minors, with only minor differences. I chose theoretical preparation of the final work, I endeavoured to investigate the issue of child labour on a general level, perform a comparison of published sources and a comparison from the aspect of cultural and national differences. I also utilised secondary analysis of official documents from selected EU states and an analysis of the contents of available sources. During my work with foreign language literature I chiefly utilised available Internet sources. Within the scope of the European Union child labour is most frequently mentioned in relation to the worst forms of child labour, which include commercial sexual abuse of children, consequently I discuss this area in detail in my work. I specifically describe trade in children, child prostitution and child pornography, including cases, which actually took place. Fortunately there are not many of these cases and these actions are very heavily punished within the terms of criminal proceedings. In spite of this, news about the existence of these worst forms of child labour does appear from time to time, chiefly provided by the media. The conclusion of the bachelor?s thesis contains a summary of findings, in which my opinion of the aforementioned issue is published. I endeavour to propose possible solutions to this issue in the future.
The Significance and Impacts of Child Labour in Developing Countries
Koppanová, Darina ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; De Castro, Tereza (referee)
This bachelor thesis is dealing with the problem of child labour. It is determining its incidence in world regions and economic sectors and describing a model of labour market where the percentage of working children is high (by the economists Basu and Tzannatos). The aim of the thesis is to map the market of child labour, define economic causes and find out possible solutions which would be effective in combating with this phenomenon. The thesis is analysing diverse attitudes of developing countries, as well as the actual situation in the developed part of the world. On the basis of an analysis by the International Labour Organization, the bachelor thesis is proving that the eliminating of child labour makes sense, not only from the social and human rights' point of view, but also for the economic perspective. Although initial costs are very high, this investment will be definitely repaid to a country in following years. In the conclusion, the thesis is proposing actions which could be taken by developing countries in conjunction with international organizations.

Child labour in the Czech Republic
HONYSOVÁ, Lucie
For my bachelor thesis I chose a topic of Child labour in the Czech Republic. This topic seems to be suitable in regard of societal efforts to protect children´s rights. I set two aims for my work. The first goal was to find out a legislation concerning the child labour in the Czech Republic and the other one was to obtain information on an awareness related to the child labour in the Czech Republic at workers employed with a firm in an industrial branch, an art agency and a sports club. The first hypothesis was based on the reality, that the workers of the firm in the industrial branch, the art agency and the sports club are not sufficiently informed about the child labour in the Czech Republic and the other emphasized less information about the child labour at workers of the firm in the industrial branch than at workers of the art agency. I collected results by a method of a quantitative research through a technique of an anonymous questionnaire at workers of the firm called JUTA, a.s. in Višňová, the South Bohemian theatre in České Budějovice and the Hockey club Bílí Tygři Liberec, s.r.o. (White Tigers of Liberec) and by semi-controlled interviews with representatives of those organizations. The analyzed results recorded in charts show that an awareness of workers on the child labour is insufficient, thus the first hypothesis is confirmed. A comparison of records between organizations shows that the awareness of their employees is on the similar level, which refers on a refutal of the second hypothesis. Following the results and discussions I would propose a more extensive research at more organizations which cooperate with children within the scope of their artistic, cultural, sports or advertising activities permitted by the Employment Act. At the same time I point out a possibility to increase the awareness of people about the child labour by creating short documentary films which could be screened in cinemas for example before the beginning of the main movie or in the TV broadcast.
