BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Name and surname: Barbora Veličková Supervisor: Bc. Tereza Chalupská Opponent: Title: The effect of kineziotape on ankle joint in patients with cerebrovascular accident - objectivisation by a footscan Key words: kineziotaping, ankle joint, cerebrovascular accident, Footscan® Abstract: This bachelor thesis is focused on on the effect of kineziotape on ankle joint in patients with cerebrovascular accident. The bachelor thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. In theoretical part I follow up the problematics of patients after cerebrovascular accident, the anatomy and kinesiology of ankle joint, function of foot and gait. Also I describe the methods and effects of kinesiotaping. In practical part I used a qualitative research, processing two cases. I objectivisated the effect of kineziotape by a Footscan®. Kinesiotaping is used as a complementary therapy combined with other physiotherapeutical methods. For the purpose of my bachelor thesis I used kinesiotaping separately for easier evaluation of results. The purpose was to find out if the application of kineziotape on ankle joint in patients with cerebrovascular accident enhaces the stand stability and gait. Both patients achieved a higher ROM in ankle joint, decreasing of edema in the area of aplication of kinesiotape and one...

Title: The effect of regular training in Locomat system changing the stereotype of gait of patients after the cerebrovascular accident Objectives: The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate whether it is appropriate to use the Locomat system in therapy of gait of patients after the cerebrovascular accident, what is the effect of regular training of these patients in the Locomat system on their stereotype of gait and whether the training in the Locomat system of patients after the cerebrovascular accident is more effective in comparison with other physiotherapeutic practices. Methods: The thesis was processed in the Kladruby Rehabilitation Centre on 14 probands, who were divided after the entrance examination in order to form two equivalent homogenous groups. The first group of seven members was experimental, the second one was control. At the beginning of the study the rate of gait disorder was specified at each proband using standardized method of Wisconsin Gait Scale, they also underwent 10 - Meter Walk Test and 6 - Minute Walk Test. Afterwards all the probands absolved a three-week lasting standard regime of rehabilitation. The probands of research groups absolved except the rehabilitation regime during this time period regularly 5x times a week fifteen 30-minute lasting therapy units in the...
Cooperation between a Home Care Nursing Agency and Family Members in the Care for Patients after Cerebrovascular Accident
SILOVSKÁ, Petra
Cerebrovascular accident means acute vascular brain damage. It may have various causes. This includes either blocking of a vein with a blood clot, vasoconstriction or combination of the aforementioned causes. Frequent symptoms of CVA are paralysis, weakness, loss of sensitivity in face or on one side of a limb. Another symptom may be speech disturbance. Cerebrovascular accident may be identified as brain ischemia and hemorrhagic ictus. The thesis includes characteristics and symptoms of the aforementioned types. Furthermore, the thesis describes examination methods and treatment for CVA. Consequences of CVA may include some forms of paresis or plegia, which brings limitation of self-sufficiency for a client. Thus, it is necessary to start timely rehabilitation which shall engage the affected body parts. If the client suffers from speech disturbance as a consequence of CVA s/he should be treated by a speech specialist. If the client does not stay in hospital facilities the family may use service of a home care agency. If the client's health allows s/he may stay at his/her home and a nurse from the home care agency may come to his/her home regularly and helps the client's family. The nurse performs all the required activities and s/he also makes the family engaged in the care. Communication forms an inseparable part of the care. The thesis called Cooperation of nurses and family members within care for a patient who suffered from cerebrovascular accident used qualitative research. The interviews were taken with nurses from home care agency and with family members who take care for a patient who suffered from cerebrovascular accident. The survey was categorized and charted to make it more illustrative. The aim of the thesis was to identify the extent of cooperation between nurses from home care agency and family members taking care for a patient who suffered from cerebrovascular accident, and then to define in which activities the family members may be engaged, and finally to describe how the nurse from home care agency communicates with the family. The nurses' point of view has shown the same positive results and they were satisfied with family's engagement in care for the patient. The revealed results of the survey may be provided to the home care agency to allow assessment of the effect of nurses' work on the overall condition of the clients.
Cerebrovascular Accident and Subsequent Resocialization
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Tereza
This thesis is focused on resocialisation of persons after cerebrovascular accident - stroke. In this research I have focused concretely on interviews with people who had experienced a stroke. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with anatomical-physiological basis of stroke, risk factors, disease characteristics, symptoms, causes, first aid, the description of different types of stroke and comprehensive rehabilitation, specifically with medical, social, pedagogical and working means of rehabilitaion. In the practical part methods and techniques of qualitative research were used. The questioning method and the semi-structured interview technique were applied. The target group was 10 people who had experienced a stroke. Interviews were processed into case studies - case reports. In the case studies, information from people who had undergone the disease was summarized. The aim of my thesis was to determine and compare the opportunities for selected social groups to return to normal life after a stroke. In the discussion, the obtained information was summarized and hypotheses arising from the research were presented. The supposed use of my thesis could be mapping possibilities of resocialization for persons who have suffered a stroke. The thesis could contribute to the quality improvement of education in this subject and also to help educate the public. Other possibilities how to make use of this thesis are to create a procedure that could be applied in resocialization of persons after stroke.
The knowing of laic community about high- risk factors, prevention and symptoms of vascular brain stroke
VYCHYTILOVÁ, Renata
Cerebrovascular accident (CVA, ictus) is a critical state in neurology, when due to disturbance in the blood supply to the brain the local or total damage of brain functions occurs. Only one third of patients with this diagnosis are completely cured. The possibilities how to improve this situation is first of all an early hospitalization of ill in their acute stadium of the disease and an appreciation of preventive care significance. The main risk factors are: age, heredity, high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, smoking, alcohol, drugs, obesity, stress, lack of physical activity, improper nutrition. The crucial significance for prevention is the regulation of life-style, e.g. sufficient physical activity, proper nutrition and the absence of smoking. Also regular check-ups which can reveal high blood pressure, high level of cholesterol and diabetes mellitus in time are important. The prevention also includes the education focused on CVA symptoms and the need to act quickly in this case because time is crucial for the treatment of ictus. The objective of the thesis is to find out the informedness of laic public on the risk factors, prevention and symptoms of cerebrovascular accident. The hypotheses concerning the knowledge of risk factors, prevention and symptoms of cerebrovascular accident were stated. For this thesis the method of questioning by the technique of a questionnaire was chosen. The questionnaire was compiled on the basis of information gained from the professional literature; it was anonymous, designed for laic public and contained 25 closed, open and semi-closed questions, which offered the choice of particular answers and the possibility to fill in respondents{\crq} opinions. The observed group was laic public in Vysočina Region. On the whole 200 respondents were addressed during February and March 2010. The criterion for the choice of respondents was laic (non- medical) public who did not experience CVA irrespective of age and education. The rate of questionnaire return was 83% out of the total number. 22 questionnaires were excluded because they were incomplete. On the whole the data from 145 questionnaires were elaborated. The hypotheses were proved; the objective of the thesis was fulfilled. Good informedness in the area of risk factors and prevention and insufficient knowledge on the symptoms of ictus were found out. The results will be published at seminars designed for medical workers in in-patient and out-patient institutions. They might contribute to better informedness of public. Further, the results will be used as the basis for the seminar on the problems of CVA and its prevention, designed for laic public.
