The case report of physiotherapeutic treatment of the patient with cancer multiplicity and brain metastases
Černá, Monika ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Dušánek, Tomáš (referee)
Title: The case report of physiotherapeutic treatment of the patient with cancer multiplicity and brain metastases. Aims: Aims of this thesis are to acquire theoretic knowledge about cancer multiplicity with brain metastases and to make case study of patient treated with cancer multiplicity with brain metastases, left-sided hemiparesis and cerebellar damage. Summary: The thesis is composed of general part and special part. General part consisted of information about anatomical structures in central nervous system, characteristic of the diagnosis, how the disease developes, a symptomatology, examinations and a treatment of the disease. Special part includes the case study of the patient with cancer multiplicity and brain metastases, consequent stroke and cerebellar damage. The case study is composed of patient history, entrance/final kinesiological examination, short-term and long-term plan, the therapy and the evaluation of therapeutic effect. Keywords: cancer multiplicity, metastases, physiotherapy, case report, stroke, cerebellum
Manifestation of cerebellar dominance in the form of extinction physiological syndrome on upper and lower limbs and its relationship to human laterality
Rybář, Adam ; Musálek, Martin (advisor) ; Tlapáková, Eva (referee)
1 Title: Manifestation of cerebellar dominance in the form of extinction physiological syndrome on upper and lower limbs and its relationship to human laterality. Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to determinate size of relationship between manifestation of cerebellar dominance in the form of extinction physiological syndrome and preference of limbs. Methods: A total of 27 individuals (male and female students of UK FTVS) were involved in the current quantitative research. We used indicators which were selected from Musalek's test battery (2013) to assess limb preferences. The evaluation of joint passivity asymmetry was based on angle and time parameters during walk and during controlled falls of forearm and shank on a constructed fall-machine. The movement was registered in real time by Qualisys Motion Capture System. For data analysis, descriptive statistics methods, paired t-test, level of statistical and substantive significance (Cohen's d) and tetrachoric coefficient of correlation were used. Results: Our research suggests that there is no significant difference in joint passivity when comparing preferred and non preferred limbs. Though it is necessary to take into consideration specifics and the size of research sample in which everybody was an active athlete. The result of tetrachoric...
Casuistics of physiotherapy care for patient diagnosed with cerebellar lesion after a brain hypoxia
Vyhnánek, Štěpán ; Reckziegelová, Petra (advisor) ; Křížková, Štěpánka (referee)
Title: Casuistics of physiotherapy care for patient diagnosed with cerebellar lesion after a brain hypoxia Goal: The goal of this work is data collection and processing of theoretical information on cerebellar ischemia and a preparation of casuistics of a patient with cerebellar hypoxia after heart attack. Summary: My thesis deals with cerebellar hypoxia after leaving sufferd from loss of heart as a result of heart attack. Thesis is divided in to parts. The first part, a theoretical one, describes anatomical and functional structure of the cerebellum, a brief description of ISCH and treatment options. This part also contains a description of rehabilitation methods used in patients with cerebellar syndrome. The second part of my thesis, a practical one, is focused on a precise description of the work with the patient after having suffered from loss of cerebellar hypoxia, I have collaborated with on inpatient department of regional hospital in Kladno from January 5th to January 22nd, 2016. The practical part contains results of patient's examination in time of admision to hospital and in time of release from hospital and a description of individual therapautical units (used methods, the progress of the therapy and the success of treatment). Keywords: heart attack, cerebellum, rehabilitation
Influence of laterality in somatognostic functions of floorball players
Žarković, Dragana ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Vláčilová, Ivana (referee)
! Title of thesis : Influence of laterality in somatognostic functions of floorball players Demarcation of the issue : This thesis is dedicated to the influence of laterality in somatognostic functions of floorball players and it rates relation between these two phenomenons. It is a first research in this branch and sport, also, it informs about the coherence of these two phenomenons, from the point of view as a cause of sports injuries and also as a prevention of sports injuries. Justification : Athletes get injured frequently in many different situations. Often, we are dealing with an injury as a consequence, but not the real cause. Physical therapist should get oriented in this problematics to be more effective in the healing process of the athlete. To avoid such problems in adulthood, we should be more focused on the prevention just at the beginning of a sports career of a small athlete. No matter what sports level the athlete had achieved, we are focusing especially in one-sided sport activities. Aim of the thesis : The aim of thesis is to find out any coherence of the effect of one-sided sports, as floorball, to somatognostic functions of players at the age between 6 - 14 years old. Methodology of the thesis : Research is created in a form of descriptive - associative academic method. It is...
Postural stability in patients with cerebellar ataxia
Ševčíková, Lucie ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Pospíšilová, Mariana (referee)
Bachelor's thesis "Postural Stability in Patients with Cerebellar Ataxia" deals with the issue of postural stability related to patients with cerebellar lesion. The thesis summarizes the basic information ragarding the influence of cerebellum to the postural stability of the stance. In the experimental part of thesis, we assess the impact of deep foot massage and approximation of joints of lower limbs on the postural control measured with the force platform. Examination of cerebeller function in patients with scoliosis
Drdáková, Lenka ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Slováčková, Lenka (referee)
Purpose: The aim of this research was to determine whether there is a difference in the presence of minimal cerebellar signs, hypermobility and dyspraxia in the group of patients with idiopathic scoliosis (IS) and a control group of individuals without IS. Methods: 11 patients have been selected for this research with IS and 11 individuals without IS as a control group. The International Cooperative Ataxia Rating Scale (ICARS) was used for examination of cerebellar signs. Hypermobility was evaluated with ten tests according to Janda. The presence of pendulum reflexes was determined by examination of patellar and triceps reflex, while dyspraxia was analyzed by means of the Czechoslovak test. Results: Patients with IS scored significantly worse in ICARS than the control group (p < 0,05). IS patients presented with significantly more pronounced hypermobility in head rotation (p = 0,0384) and forward bending (p = 0,0409) tests comparing to the control group. No significant difference between the two groups was identified in pendulum reflexes and the Czechoslovak dyspraxia test. Conclusion: The study confirms significantly more positive signs of ataxia and asynergy in a group of patients with IS comparing to control group. Hypermobility was significantly more pronounced in head rotation and forward...
