Valdhans, Jan ; Urbášková, Hana (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
Abstract In the town of Kroměříž, in an attractive location near significant heritage-protected sites such as the Květná zahrada (Flower Garden) and the forest park area of the psychiatric hospital, as well as the popular excursion spot Barbořina, there is currently an unused, relatively large undeveloped area. The city council’s intention is to construct residential buildings with minor multifunctional features in this locality. The subject of my bachelor’s thesis was to find and develop a building solution that would offer a pleasant environment and comprehensive functions to support the lives of local residents, in line with current urban development trends. My work involved creating an overall conceptual solution, an urban layout proposal for the area, and developing a project for a new multifunctional building within the scope of architectural studies.

In my project, I am addressing the task of transforming the site of the current Malenovická sawmill into a new housing development. Tomáš Batas’ street, which is the defining interfering element of the location, will be visually and acoustically shielded by an administrative building with a commercial ground floor and an eight-story polyclinic building on the corner. Providing a natural dominant cover for the new urban structure, we will find the quiet residential zone in the periphery containing the apartment buildings. A key element of my project is the semi-enclosed atrium, which provides a thermoregulation zone based on the chimney and greenhouse effect.

The diploma thesis deals with the design of a residential building in the area of Malenovice near Zlín, where a new residential complex is to be built on the land of the current Malenovice sawmill, situated in close proximity to a four-lane road. The concept of this proposal is based on a detailed examination of human cycles and their impact on people in everyday life in relation to architecture. From the life cycle through the annual cycle and especially the daily cycle, professionally referred to as the circadian rhythm. The building, with its idea concept, orientation to the cardinal points, zoning of the apartment and also the shape solution, responds to the needs of man in terms of light comfort and at the same time addresses the greatest efficiency of the technologies used precisely in relation to light comfort, the form solution also creates conditions at the terrace level for the meeting of a wide range of inhabitants of the house - creating diversity. It reduces the need to illuminate the space during the day with artificial lighting, and after dark it addresses artificial lighting with respect to human health, thus also reducing energy consumption.

PROCHÁZKA, Martin
The bachelor thesis deals with identification and inner differentiation of urban area of the town of České Budějovice based on the functional typization of land use.Introduction concentrates on delimitation of urban area of the town of České Budějovice itself and for better understanding of development of particular functional areas there is also a brief reference to urban development of the town of České Budějovice. The next part dedicates to detailed typology of residential built-up areas in delimited urban areas of the town that was created by the author after his field research. This typology of residential built-up area is the main key for orientation in the project of price maps which are found in the final part of the work. The final part analyzes the average price of one square metre in the basic types of housing in particular parts of the town of České Budějovice. The final synthesis tries to register and define the basic factors which influence the differences in prices. The gained results of work are transferred to the geographical information system GIS for the needs of the final synthesis and visualisation.
