Charles University in Prague, Faculty of arts Institute of Prehistory and Early History Lucia Žilincová SETTLEMENT OF BOHEMIAN PARADISE IN THE PERIOD OF LUSATIAN URN FIELDS Dissertation thesis Summary: The main aim of my dissertation thesis is to contribute to better understanding of the Bohemian Paradise settlement in the Lusatian urn fields period and its relation and contacts to the neighbouring areas. The basic source is archaeological material from seven cemeteries (Sovenice /bez. Mladá Boleslav/, Sovenice /bez. Nymburk/, Svijany, Svijanský Újezd, Koryta, Březina, Příšovice) and two settlements of the Lusatian culture (Turnov-Maškovy zahrady, Svijany). Its analysis is basis for enrichement knowledge of Lusatian material culture and its clue for completing of missing elements in chronological development. Inevitable part of this work is substitution of these localities to the Bomemian Paradise frame and classification in the wider space of this culture widespreading. On the base of acquired knowledge I will try to solve the question of possibility for comparation of the settlement and burial material of Lusatian culture. 2016

Burial equipment of the burial ground in Modern age (Material culture of urban world for example on burial ground next to st. Nicolas church)
HANUŠOVÁ, Veronika
Submitted work is dealing with burgher burial rite and burial equipment during the 16th ? 18th centuries. The research of a graveyard near the St. Nicholas Church in České Budějovice from 1971, 2001 and 2005 was used for this purpose. There were many artefacts coming from the graves. The aim of my thesis is to describe the burial rite and the burial equipment of the dead from this burial place on the basis of archeological, historical, ethnographical and anthropological sources. Big attention is paid to devotional articles that represented things which went along with the dead in this world and in the other world. The devotional articles can be found today on many burial places in the Czech Republic and in Europe as well. In relation with these findings, indentification and age determination were done. Because the burial place at the St. Nicholas Church is located in České Budějovice, the thesis is focused on Southern Bohemia during the 16th ? 18th centuries, although it stretched beyond the borders of the given area and time to give a more complex point of view.
Burial rite of hunter DV 16 from paleontology and palaeoethnology point view
Nývltová Fišáková, Miriam ; Sázelová, S.
During the archaeological research, which was made at the locality Dolní Věstonice was uncovered a recessed hut. Compared to the rest of settlement the animals from this object are remarkably distinguishing. The bones of foxes, hares and wolves are closely concetrated to each other, so it seems that they were mostly in the anatomic position and that they are belonging to one individual. In addition these bones are constituing noticeable accumulations around the body of deceased. All animals were hunted in the early spring (February-April), which is resulting from the analysis of the seasonal increaments of the cementum on the roots of teeth. It seems that these animals were probably given to the deceased man, so they could indirectly show the time period of the hunter’s burial.
