Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and Parliamentary Elections in 1925

This diploma thesis deals with the development of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia during the years 1921-1925, its work in the party-political system of the first Czechoslovak Republic and the elections to the National Assembly, which took place in November 1925, in which it measured forces and popularity against other political parties. This was the first parliamentary election for the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia since its inception. Despite this, it was a huge success, gaining almost one million electoral votes, making it the second strongest party in the whole Czechoslovakia. Greater attention is paid to the internal party disputes that accompanied the party during its development throughout almost all of the 1920s, the Communist Party's attitudes towards the state regime, the methods of spreading Marxist-Leninist ideology during the election campaign and the election results from a communist point of view.

The thesis deals with the emergence of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and its development in the 1920s. The first part is devoted to the historical roots of the socialist movement in Austria-Hungary and the Czech lands and maps the birth of the Communist Party from the left wing of the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Workers' Party. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the policy and internal development of the Communist Party in the 1920s in connection with its relationship to the Communist International. It also describes the most important events that influenced the party, individual congresses of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, their conclusions and in the context there is explained the strategic-tactical direction of the party. The thesis also monitors the development of communist agitation before the parliamentary elections of 1925 and 1929 and the results of these elections. The work uses specialized literature, protocols of individual congresses of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and articles from the period press. Communist Party of Czechoslovakia during the First Republic: Party Bolshevization and its Position towards the Czechoslovak Republic

Diploma thesis "Communist Party of Czechoslovakia during the First Republic: Party Bolshevization and its Position towards the Czechoslovak Republic" deals with events and processes inside Communist party of Czechoslovakia in the twenties of the 20th century, while it is mainly focused on bolshevizing pressures, which causes long series of related crises in CPC. To describe these problems, study using method of intrinsic case study. Text starts with definition of bolshevization itself, while there is attempt to unify several approaches to bolshevization. Author tries to use wide range of literature, from Communist historiography to later and foreign sources, while both are heavily combined. The text is arranged in chronological order and tries to describe bolshevization steps from several angles. The main focus is especially put on situation and processes inside party, but study does not ignore an important external factor, the interventions of Communist international to party development. In total, the thesis illustrating and describing transformation of party organizational structure and changes in program basis during twenties and early thirties and puts them in context to overall party relationship with Czechoslovak state.
Vznik Komunistické strany Československa a její fungování ve 20. letech 20. století

Tato práce pojednává o vzniku a vývoji Komunistické strany Československa ve dvacátých letech 20. století. Zaměřuje se na historické kořeny této strany a mapuje její zrod z levého křídla Československé sociální demokracie. Podrobně je sledován samotný rozkol uvnitř sociální demokracie, zkoumána jeho podstata, stejně jako okolnosti, za kterých k němu došlo. Poté se práce věnuje vnitřnímu vývoji v KSČ ve dvacátých letech a její profilaci na československé politické scéně. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována vztahu KSČ a Komunistické internacionály, charakteristice tohoto vztahu a metodám mocenského působení Kominterny na KSČ. Práce se rovněž zabývá otázkou atraktivity KSČ za první republiky, a to jak mezi obyčejnými dělníky, tak mezi intelektuály.
