Barriers in education of marginalized preschool children
Zemanová, Helena ; Kaščák, Ondrej (advisor) ; Koťa, Jaroslav (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the existing barriers in preschool education, which stand among the children from the margins and their successful start of the educational process in the mainstream of education. The aim of the diploma thesis was to capture the way in which barriers are perceived from the perspective of both parents of children and kindergarten teachers, and to describe how these two worlds collide. In the theoretical part, I explored the existing research and the situation of preschool education in the Czech Republic with focus on children from the margins. In the practical part, I did my own research based on a qualitative method of semi-structured interview. I carried out the research in the locality of Pilsen. The results of the research offer the opportunity to break down the barriers between families and institutions. Key words: barriers in pre-school education, pre-school education, social disadvantage, locality Pilsen, qualitative research, availability of pre-school education, early care, socially excluded families, unaducated parents, teachers
