Global Marketing Strategy of Škoda Auto Inc.

The main goal of this thesis -- "Market Analysis of Škoda Auto in China" is to analyze Škoda Auto Group in The People's Republic of China. Enjoying more than 100 years of history, Škoda Auto, based in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic, is one of the world's oldest automobile manufacturer and is a part of Volkswagen Group -- one of the world's largest auto concerns. Škoda Auto is a global brand presented in all major markets including emerging markets of Russia, India and most importantly China. Even though Škoda Auto has entered the Chinese automotive market very recently -- in 2007 with Octavia - in the first half of 2011 sold there 112 000 vehicles. Moreover, since 2010 Chinese market is the largest one for Škoda Auto followed by German and Czech markets. This thesis analyzes Škoda Auto in China as well as describes the main differences in model lines from European versions.
The impact of oil shocks in the seventies on the U.S. automotive industry

The period of the seventies was characterized by occurence of oil crises that defined the entire decade of economic development across the U.S. The theoretical section of the work is devoted to macroeconomic consequences of the increased oil prices and brings the idea of economic theory, which considers the oil shocks as a part of wider economic problems in the mentioned period. Analytical part examines the impact of increased oil prices on the concrete industry. It describes performance indicators of automobile producers in the U.S., sketch the entry of new competitors in the U.S. auto market and following gradual loss of dominance of domestic brands. Work further analyzes the consumer behaviour in terms of preferences of new model products and the usage of personal vehicles. In conclusion, the given legislative measures its impact on the development of car culture in the U.S. Synthesis of statistics on industry, regulatory and economic papers provides opinion, that even though the opportunity for change in the automotive industry due to the oil shocks of the seventies occurred, in the long term remain unused which lost the chance to eliminate the potential risk of future oil crisis in the american automotive sector.
Vybrané problémy vplyvu globalizácie na český automobilový priemysel

Bachelor thesis focuses on the effects of globalization on different areas of the Czech automotive industry. The thesis characterizes the phenomenon of globalization in general and specifically from the perspective of the world's automobile production. It also records the history and development of automotive production in the Czech Republic. The thesis captures the Czech automotive industry in details, where the impact of globalization caused significant changes in the last two decades. From an economic point of view it concentrates on the impact of these changes on the overall role of the automotive industry in the economy of the CR. At the end of the bachelor thesis there is view of the current situation in the various car factories of the Czech automotive industry.
Vývoj zahraničního obchodu v automobilovém průmyslu ČR

The automotive industry is going thru the turbulent times. To name a few: territorial and structural changes, changes in demand and last but not least establishment of ecological procedures in manufacturing and in operation of motor vehicles. Automotive industry is one of the most important branches of Czech external trade. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the development of international trade in this sector. The highest volume is performed with the neighbouring countries -- the biggest volumes of international trade are performed with Germany and Slovakia. Export of motor vehicles comprises of 16 percent of the whole amount of Czech exports and imports of motor vehicles comprise of more than 8 percent of the whole amount of Czech imports. The production of automotive industry was constantly growing and in 2010 the number of produced cars exceeded one million, thanks to this result is the Czech Republic one of the biggest motor vehicle manufacturers all over the world. Despite of the financial crisis the Czech manufacturers did not limit their production -- on the contrary -- the production kept growing thanks to the "scrap yard bonus" in EU countries. The most of the produced cars was exported. Many suppliers are dependent on the automotive industry in the Czech Republic. They supply parts, services, or labour forces. The Czech automotive manufacturers are awaiting a growth of production in the future.

It includes theoretical background within international management and strategic analyses which are applied in functional part to General Motors Corporation. The result of the strategic analyses is to map the current situation of the company, its prospective trend and recommendations.
The Current Financial Crisis and Its Impact on International Trade

The thesis is aimed at explanation of the factors that led to the creation of the current financial crisis in their mutual context. Emphasis is placed on the way of providing mortgages in the USA, policy of FED and credit derivatives. The impacts of the crisis on banking, stock and commodity markets, building industry and automotive industry are discussed as important determinants of international trade. It is shortly mentioned how countries like Germany, China or Czech Republic dealt with the crisis. The final part of the thesis is devoted to the impacts of the crisis on international trade, these impacts result from the issues that are described in the first two parts. Discussed are the commodity and territorial structures of the international trade during the years of crisis. Also the impacts on the foreign trade of the Czech Republic are stressed.

The master thesis discusses the development of automotive industry in foreign trade of Czech Republic in 1993-2009. The thesis consists of 3 main parts: the first part deals with production of czech producers as object of following exports, the second part documents import of automobiles into the Czech Republic and the third part describes and analyses development of foreign trade and the role of automotive industry in foreign trade of Czech Republic.
Regional spatial analysis of automotive industry in the Czech Republic

The present bachelor work deals with localization of automotive industry in the Czech Republic. The main goal is to identify regions with intense concentration of automotive industry. The work is focused on historical development of theory of location and evaluation of industrial location factors. The practical part of the work contains calculation of location quotients, location curve, elaboration of cartograms, and analysis of region with the highest concentration of automotive industry on analytic, cartographic and statistic basis and identification of significant location factors of automotive industry in the Czech Republic.
