Proces zrovnoprávňování neheterosexuálních osob v České republice

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the ongoing process of obtaining equal rights for non-heterosexual individuals in Czechia. Most of the text is devoted to three main periods of time - the First Czechoslovak Republic, period of the nineties in twentieth century and the last five years as milestones of the researched topic. The main contribution of this writing is a summarizing description of key actors, organizational structures, government interventions and social phenomena that played an important role in the legislative changes in human right settlement of these minorities to the heteronormative majority. The Thesis offers a chronological analysis of changes in the perception of non-heterosexual individuals in this territory from 1918 to the present days with the historical context preceding it. To demonstrate the standpoints of the society the writing also presents sociological surveys related to the topic.
Employment discrimination against foreign workers focused on the polish community in the Czech Republic

The subject of this thesis is the Employment discrimination against foreign workers, focused on the Polish community in the Czech Republic. It contains basic terms and definitions (equality, equal treatment, direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, victimization, indirect or direct instruction to discriminate). The thesis also deals with the legislation of equal treatment and prohibition of discrimination on both European and local level. Subsequently, it attends to specific area of unequal treatment - employment discrimination against foreigners and discusses selected international studies that have addressed this issue in detail. The thesis is based on a qualitative and quantitative research of the discrimination against Polish community in their workplace. A questionnaire survey itself is followed by semi-structured interviews. The acquired data is analyzed and the specific aspects of behavior that the Polish workers deem discriminatory are identified. Wage discrimination in the labor market in the Czech Republic from 2005 - 2014

In this bachelor dissertation work is studied the use of regression analysis of wage development. This analyse the situation before and after possible impact of the antidiscrimination law on the wage situation of women and men in the labor market. The theoretical part is intended construction of work concepts such as equality, discrimination and its types and forms. Together with clarifying the content of the antidiscrimination law passed in 2009. The practical part contains an analysis of the macroeconomic situation for the period 2005-2014 and analysis of the factors directly affecting the level of wages. Attention is given to the period after 2009, which should theoretically lead to the improvement in the wage situation of women and eliminate discrimination. Although, we follow a very strong correlation between the examined factors and wages, wage differences are objectively justified and therefore we cannot talk about discrimination. This is justified by numbers which demonstrates the ineffectiveness of the anti-discrimination law.
Price Elasticity of Demand for Life Insurance

The main goal of this research is to find out the price elasticity of demand for life insurance in Czech Republic. It was utilized exogenous price change for research caused by EU regulation of premium rate unification for men and women, put into force on 21.12.2012. In research were used data from 2010 to 2013 about sales and prices of life insurance products, provided by Czech Business Insurance Company. It was discovered that women's demand for life insurance is inelastic, price increase of 1% brings reduction of demanded quantity of 0,94%. Price elasticity of a men's demand came out as a plus number. It was caused by sudden decline of demanded quantity after price reduction. This phenomenon might be a topic for further research.
Sexual Harassment and other kinds of Discrimination in Industrial Relations

The aim of the project will assess the status and development of legal means to combat sexual harassment and discriminatory practices in the context of labor relations in comparison to the rules applicable in the European Union. A practical output will be important in the approximation of laws after the entry into the European Union.
