The Question of Origins of Value in Naturalistic Philosophy of Irving Singer

Irving Singer's theory of value declares itself a member of american naturalistic and pragmatic tradition. It refuses metaphysical speculation on behalf of empirism and stresses the processual character of every experience, focusing more on its imaginatively-affective rather than rational part. Singer distinguishes two basic types of valuation: appriciation of an object, seen as an instrument for a given function, and spontaneous bestowal of value, which values the object on the basis of its own qualities - generating an affective attachement in the process. In a healthy organism, both ought to cooperate to support the fullness of life-in-the-world. Their harmonization is a matter of aesthetics as recognized in the case of love or works of art. This thesis criticizes Singer's project from its own point of view - the american naturalism. In the first chapter, it describes closely Singer's point-of-departure and places it within historical tradition. The matter of the "intrinsic value controversy" is drawn here as well. Following two chapters probe into the pillars of Singer's systém - the conceptions of appriciation, bestowal, imagination and idealization. Plato´s Vision of the Ideal State and Dystopias in the 20th century

In this thesis I will deal with the comparison of Plato´s vision of the ideal state presented in his work Constitution to negative utopias in the 20th century. I will seek common invariants occuring in all presented works by using method of structural analysis formulated by Claude Lévi-Strauss. The subjects of my analysis are books Constitution, We, Brave New World, 1984 and movies Metropolis, Matrix and Equilibrium. In the end I will present my hypothesis that there is another invariant fact that all negative utopias are based on raising the economic character of a man in order to maximize effect of his work. This is done by suppression and destruction of John Dewey´s concept of an experience.

The aim of the thesis is to deal with the ?artephletics? which is one of the possible methods how to reach certain goals during art lessons at the Secondary school in Litomyšl. The first part of the thesis is focused on the theoretical findings of this method which are subsequently used in the second , it means in the main and practical part of the work.This part deals with the significance and presentation of the methodical row based on as one theme.

Application of Experiential Pedagogy on Integration of Physically Handicapped People

The Thesis deals with the possibilities of integration of disabled people with the help of experiential pedagogy. It is divided into three topics. The first part is the naming the terms such as {\clqq}a disabled person``, {\clqq}integration``, {\clqq}experiential pedagogy``. The second part deals with the phenomenon of experiential pedagogy, its history, aims and principles, spectrum of experiential pedagogical activities. It tells what an experiential course is and it emphasizes the importance of the game in people´s lives. The essential part is the last one, which focuses on the practical use of the experiential pedagogy in integration of the disabled people. It informs us about the history and the present situation of integrational experiential courses not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. It specifies the charactaristics of disabled people and gives ideas about the metodology, preparation and realisation of integrational experiential courses. The outcome of the Thesis can be used for further compilation of metodology of experiential pedagogy of physically handicapped people.
