Alternative family care in Czech Republic and possibilities of psychologist's involvement in this field

The diploma thesis is concerned about the theme of alternative family care in Czech republic, it is focused on psychologist's involvement in this field. It report summary of informations about menaced and abandoned children, about types of alternative family care, about profession of psychologist, who is concerned this theme and about failings in contemporary system. Empiri- cal part of the diploma thesis bring enrichment of opinions and point of view of experts working in this field, describe profession of psychologist, garner observations of experts to problems, which they see from their experience in alternative family care and bring suggestions for solu- tion. The diploma thesis give informations about possibilities in education of psychologist and organization's service for alternative and biological families. This diploma thesis is intented for psychologist, as well as for all the experts who wants to work in this field.
Public attitude towards parenting of homosexual individuals and couples

The master thesis "Public attitude towards parenting of homosexual individuals and couples" deals with an attitude of Czech public towards parental rights of homosexuals and attitude of European public towards alternative family forms with focus on homoparental families. The topic requires attention as part of Czech legislators currently tries to pass the novella of Registered Partnership Act, which would enable homosexuals to adopt children of their partners; and with regard to the impact of public attitude towards homoparental families on these families. The current legislation concerning homosexual rights is described in the paper along with the up to now legislative process of submitted novella of the law. Also other ways of becoming parents besides the adoption of partner's child which homosexuals can use in the Czech Republic or elsewhere are presented. The thesis then focuses on adoption and assisted reproduction. Attitude of Czech public towards these parental rights of homosexuals is subject of own quantitative research, in which also predictors of this attitude and groups of people with more negative and more positive attitude than the rest of the population are identified. Foster care in the South Bohemian region during the years of 2003 and 2008

This paper deals with alternative family care with the main focus being on foster care. The first chapter contains a brief introduction of adoption in order to compare and comprehend the differences between these two forms of alternative family care. The second chapter describes foster care from a historical and legal point of view. After this, we are introduced to all concerned parties - the foster care recipients, the foster care applicants and the authorities involved in the process - we are acquainted with the procedure of foster care mediation. In relation to the set goals, an investigation was carried out for the practical part of the project, whereby secondary analysis of data was carried out using primary documentation of children placed into foster care and foster care applicants in 2003 and 2008. In this instance, the applicants were already foster carers. The conclusion includes an evaluation of the data with the results detailed in tables and graphs. Finally, the time periods in question are compared in order to gain answers to the set research questions.
