Analysis of Selected Loyality Programs of Air Companies

This work deals with loyalty programs, in airline industry mostly known as frequent flyer programs. Most airlines today offers a program in which customers can earn points as a reward for their tickets flown. The first part of the work is devoted to a research of literature on the subject, the development of loyalty programs , expected effect and their impact on clients and company profit. The second part focuses on the application of theoretical knowledge in practical study of loyalty programs of two major European airlines - Air France and Lufthansa. A practical analysis and comparison of the two programs is carried in terms of comparing the parameter and differences of the programs.

Low-cost air transport development in Prague

Bachelor thesis deals with the topic of low-cost air transportation in the region of capital city Prague and issue of its future development. It offers closer understanding of characteristic features of aviation industry and identifies factors that positively affect its growth. Furthermore, a judgement on new international airport construction project near Prague is presented. Theoretical part describes basic knowledge about airports, their typology and operation strategies and continues with market power analysis, which greatly influence level of competition among neighbouring airports. Explanation of different airline carrier types is also a subject of this part.The beginning of practical part studies past trends of air transportation and its particular segments at Ruzyně airport and defines catchment area belonging to the airport. Latter part then continues with mathematical model for predictions on future low-cost air transport volumes. Lastly, the work contains 3 different scenarios about possible overall traffic at planned Vodochody airport.

The air transportation and consumer rights

The thesis is focused on dynamically developing field of the air transportation. It is based on rights and duties of airlines and consumers. It is mapping the most important current law moves of Czech Republic which has been changed and agreed for a consumer protection. It describes consumer rights in the case of a flight delay and cancellation, refusal of entry on the plane and in the case of baggage problems. It also touches the issues of advertised price of plane tickets. It is followed by the analysis of current situation of the observance of consumer rights and their point of view on some controversial topics.
